Hi @Pieter Van der Borght and @barb00sa, I want to share an update from our product team with you:

  • The Peppol integration has completed a successful pilot and GA is planned for early this week.
  • We apologize for the delay. Taking a few extra days after the pilot has allowed us to implement changes requested by pilot customers to support a smoother experience when using the integration.
  • As soon as the integration is available, we will publish an in-app messaging announcing it to Belgian customers so that you can install it ahead of the January 1st mandatory deadline for e-invoicing.
    • Reminder: You will need to install the integration a few days in advance to upload proof of ownership and allow verification of your business for the integration to be enabled.

@jessica.becker is this also going to become available for NL based customers?

Hi @mauritsbots This current integration is for Belgium only, as the legal requirement is for e-invoicing between Belgian businesses (not-cross-border) - as Peppol legal requirements roll out in more countries then the functionality will be added for those countries.

Sure its only mandatory for them (for now), however also in NL (and im sure other EU countries also) we are actively preparing for full e-invoicing. Also some of our (governement) clients only accept UBL invoices, hence we are converting invoices now with third party software… Hopefully soon available for all!

Hey @barb00sa and @nnica,

first of all, I’m happy to share that the e-invoicing integration will go live this Friday! You will receive all necessary information to assure smooth transitioning.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced. We know how important timely help is, especially when properties rely on others to set up add‑ons or when teams are new to Mews.

I understand how delays can impact your operations and confidence. Please know that we, as the Mews support, always see our priority in helping you. We’re continuously working on improving the support experience to ensure that you get help when it’s needed. And of course, we always try to solve your requests as fast as possible.

As one recent step, we’ve introduced Live Chat for all customers so users can get faster, real‑time help directly in Mews; this complements our existing channels and is aimed at reducing wait times and back‑and‑forth for medium‑complexity questions. The Live Chat is now open for all properties regardless of their subscription and add-ons.

If you have any ideas or additional feedback on how we could improve the support and our help page, please share it, as this is the only way we can make sure you feel well supported. 💪🏻

Best regards,
Inka

Hello Inka,

Could you advise what connection we are looking fora exactly? On one place Mews mentions INVOPOP, so after the announcement that on Friday the integration goes live I checked the marketplace for INVOPOP but as usual there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. If I search for Peoppol then i find the next text: “

Peppol fiscal registry integration

This integration allows you to send invoices and bills through the Peppol network using a single integration. Currently, this integration only supports Belgium B2B.”. This is actually called Peppol. Could someone from Mews give proper updated as to what is the actual bloody name of the integration we are looking for on the Marketplace? It is easier to get through a labitint than have proper answers from Mews.

Looks like it’s just gone live in the Marketplace under ‘Peppol’. Waiting for the in-app message to confirm instructions.

Dear Mews Team,

I would like to extend my gratitude for the seamless integration of the Peppol system. The installation process was incredibly straightforward and was up and running within a few hours.

However, I do have a question. We sent a test invoice to ourselves, and the result wasn't as expected. The PDF generated is not readable, and our system indicates that it had to create a PDF itself, stating that only the official UBL is valid. Could you please advise on how to proceed with this issue?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Robin

We have used a self-generated invoice with auto-incasso, similar to an energy bill or a Stripe or Mollie invoice that is paid automatically.

Best regards,

Hi @nnica

Thanks for calling this out – I can see how frustrating that must have been.

To clarify the situation:

  • Invopop is the certified Peppol Access Point we use behind the scenes. They were mentioned in the pre-launch article to show that we’re working with a reputable, certified partner, rather than as the name you’d see in Marketplace, so I’m sorry for the confusion this caused.
  • In Mews Marketplace, the connection itself is called “Peppol Fiscal Registry Integration”. Now that the integration is launched, we’ve made sure the setup guide uses this exact name so it’s clear what to look for when enabling it.

Really appreciate you raising this – feedback like yours helps us make the communication clearer for everyone.

Hi @barb00sa,

Great to hear the Peppol setup went smoothly, thanks for sharing that.

Our Peppol Fiscal Registry integration only handles the sending of e-invoices. It doesn’t play any role in how invoices are received or displayed in your accounting software, and I’m assuming the PDF you’re referring to is what your system generated when it received the Peppol invoice.

For context, neither Mews nor the Peppol network sends a PDF. We only send the official UBL (XML) e-invoice via Peppol. It looks like your accounting software then receives that UBL and creates its own PDF view from it, which is why it shows a note stating that only the UBL is valid.

So:

  • The UBL you receive is the official invoice.

  • The PDF, and its layout and wording, are entirely controlled by your accounting software.

If the PDF view isn’t suitable for your needs, the best next step is to check with your accounting software provider about whether they can adjust how they render the UBL into a PDF.

Dear @stevania.jamieson_salluzzo

Thank you for your detailed explanation. We appreciate the clarification regarding the Peppol setup and the role of the UBL e-invoice in our accounting process. Based on your insights, we understand that the PDF layout and wording are generated by our accounting software from the UBL e-invoice.

To address this, we will reach out to our accounting office to discuss whether they can adjust the way the UBL is rendered into a PDF to better suit our needs. We value your assistance in helping us navigate this process and will keep you updated on any developments.

Best regards,

Robin

Dear Mews Team,

I think I’ve finalised the “Peppol Fiscal Registry integration”

I followed all info from the KB, but may be made a mistake who knows.

Anyhow this morning I received the TASK :

I also made an invoice to ourself, and I get a successful result in the “Fiscal record report’

However, when I check our accounting system I don’t see that Invoice just created, in the right folder SALES ?

That invoice appear in the PRUCHASING FOLDER ?

For your info, we are using ‘Sage Accounting system’ = DEMATCLOUD interfaced with MEWS via OMNNIBOOST

Thank you for comments.

Hi everybody,

I want to complmete some info to my previous post concerning the integration.

This concern some infos (positive or minus) i descover today when making some invoices.

  1. Positive is that if a COMPANY is not yet registred on the PEPPOL plate forme, this is been reported on the Fiscal Registry Report
  1. When we create an invoice, the OWNER profile or ASSOCIATE profile HAVE TO BE A company profile. A self-employed individual, even with a VAT number, and BELGIUM country identify is not considered like a company and therefore the invoice is not transmitted via the PEPPOL network.

Check these report :

These are the ionvoice created yesterday and today, for BELGIUM Company and Self Employed with VAT and BELGIUM country registred in the profile.

This is the FISCAL REGISTRY Report for the same period:

When VAN DER VEKEN is registred as Self Employe, and all necessary data, the invoice is not sended through the PEPPOL plate form.

When VAN DER VEKEN is also a REGISTRED COMPANY, the the invoice is sended trhough PEPPOL to the CUSTOMEr,  (in this case), PEPPOL doesn’t recognaize the SUPPLIER ? Strange isn’t it ?

Any comments from  @stevania.jamieson_salluzzo  or @jessica.becker

Thank you

We have made a test a we have receive that information

This is not the correct information, as we cannot see the invoice. We conducted the test with two different companies using two different accounting systems.

Do you have more information for us ?

I think you need to generate something so that it is visible, otherwise we cannot check the invoice.

Hi, my name is Yann from Mews Support and I will provide some further information :)

  • The test invoice seems successfully sent via Peppol in UBL format from Mews and is legally complete and compliant as an e‑invoice.

  • No PDF is attached by Mews today, which is why the receiver systems show “UBL without attachment”. This is expected behavior with the current integration.

  • To be able to view the invoice:

    • The accounting software provider should confirm how they render Peppol‑UBL invoices when there’s no embedded PDF (many systems can still generate a readable PDF from the XML alone).
    • Until their software supports your properly, you may need to rely on the PDF sent by email in parallel for human‑readable viewing.

Internally, this behavior (XML‑only, no PDF embedded) is already known and captured as a product improvement request so that, in future, we can better match what many Belgian receivers are used to (having a nicely readable PDF from Peppol as well as the UBL).

  • Fact: Mews sends Peppol invoices as standard UBL XML without a PDF attachment.
  • Result: Peppol/access‑point shows “UBL without attachment”; the invoice content is there, but your accounting tools are not rendering it nicely.
  • Action: Ask the receiver’s software provider how they handle pure UBL invoices without PDF, and continue sending the PDF by email in parallel for readability until their tool (or our integration) supports a better view.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a great end of the year :)

Yann
