How to charge a CC after a bill has been closed

Is there a way to charge a credit card after the bill has been closed? Our guest checked out and then we had a report of incidental usage in the room. I checked them back in and do not have access to her credit card for incidentals. Thank you

Family room inventory

Hi There,Is there any way I can remove my family rooms from the inventory count? It now counts more rooms then I acctually have. So I can have 17 rooms available even if I only have 14 fysical rooms in the hotel but 3 are also bookable as a family room (so a combination of 3 rooms) Especially with my reporting, I cannot see what my actual occupancy was because Mews counts all my family rooms as additional rooms in the reporting. So I do all the counting manually now which takes a lot of time. Is there anyone with the same problem? and how to fix it? Warm regards,Sijtske

Hi! I'm quite new to Mews. Could anyone please tell me if there is a way of knowing if a bank account is directly linked to Mews to receive direct payments please? We have had a cancellation recently and was within 14 days of their arrival. If you go on to Charge and Close, does the payment automatically get taken via guests previously saved card and transferred in to the mews account? We usually take payments through a PDQ .Sorry I couldn't find this answer on mews.Thanks for any help!Lisa

Upsell via Kiosk - how to inform your teams

Hi all,We are using Kiosk in our hotels, but mostly as a digital registration card, but are now also testing upsell possibilities whilst using Kiosk (basically turning on the ‘before check-in’ promotion).But now we found that there is no information whatsoever to the team if and when a guest has selected these upgrades, causing complaints as we failed to deliver the requested product. Apparently this is per design? Live price on website

Hey, We are using in our Hotel a Screen that you can basically set up yourself with different content also depending on what day it is. One thing i am trying to do is showing the live prices for direct booking but there is no way to scrape the prices. Did anyone ever manage that? Also would like to put the live prices on the website without clicking through the booking eninge . Is it possible to have a widget for that? Or is there any other way?  Curious if anyone ran into that. Cheers Hendrik

Email Language

Hello! As far as I know, emails are always send at the preferred language of the guest. Would it be possible to always send it in English? We have our custom email and there’s important information that we want to share, but if the guest selects another language they receive the default email. Or the only way is to create emails for all languages and copy/paste the English version? Kind regards, Sergi

Hi All I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with any good guest communication programs that allow you to compose text messages to guests. Our current guest communication software does not allow this.Does anyone have any recommendations outside of Hijiffy?

Hi everyone! Just wanted to know if you are able to set up different types of “child” in the age category and if then, you can set up a brekafast rate and no city tax for them.I already have aldut and child created for the city tax but I would like to make the difference between a child from 2-12 yo that does not pay breakfast from a teenager that pays a cheaper breakfast than adults. Thanks!!

Dear Mewsers,We have been experiencing an ongoing issue with pre-authorizations not being released promptly after guest departures. Typically, the pre-authorization is cancelled on the following day, but we have been receiving frequent complaints from our guests stating that the pre-authorization remains blocked on their cards even after three weeks from their departure. We would like to understand if other hotels are also facing similar challenges with pre-authorizations not being released in a timely manner. It seems that the bank card companies are holding onto the funds even after we have released the pre-authorization. Is it legal for the bank card companies to retain the funds for such an extended period, even after the hotel has released the pre-authorization?Any insights, suggestions, or advice on how we can address this issue would be greatly appreciated. We strive to provide excellent service to our guests, and this delay in releasing pre-authorizations has been causing unnec

GDPR / Clear feature

We've observed that the usage of the clear function for GDPR anonymisation doesn't fully anonymise all data. Specifically, the guest's name remains on issued invoices and any the name on any tokenised credit cards. This information can then be retrieved through the bills and invoice report, allowing us to locate the guest record.Should we be concerned about this? Do we need to consider deleting credit card information from a profile when we perform a Clear/anonymistation and raising with Mews regarding the guest name on the invoice?

Schnittstellen

Ihr Lieben, das leidige Thema Schnittstelle. Ich habe mich bewusst von unserem Channelmanager getrennt und habe bei der Installation nur MEWS direkt mit Booking verbunden. Nun möchte ich sehr gerne aber noch AIRBNB anbinden. Hier soll es eine direkte Schnittstelle geben. Hat das schon jemand selbst gemacht? Oder hat einen Tipp? Des weiteren möchte ich sehr gerne in einem weiteren Schritt die Schnittstelle zum hiesigen Tourismusbüro nutzen - diese arbeitet mit DS Destination Solutions  zusammen. Kennt das jemand? Tri du calendrier

Bonjour All mewsers,l’ordre des chambres du calendrier est trié par catégorie de chambres. Est-il possible de le trier par numéro de chambre car nous avons, par exemple, les chambres 501 et 502 qui ne sont pas dans la même catégorie.J’ai essayé dans la demo de créer une caractéristique “tri par numéro” en reprenant toutes les chambres, mais cela n’a rien changé. Le tri par catégorie prime sur le tri par numéro de chambre.Auriez-vous une astuce ?MerciVW

Service Charge Setup

Hi MEWS Community! My hotel is in Indonesia, we are applying service charge and VAT. In MEWS we have to create service charge as a product hence rate+service charge will be sent to CRS (we are using SynXis/Sabre). We want to be able to send naked rate without service charge to CRS, and service charge to be displayed same as VAT. Anyone has similar situation and what is your setup in MEWS? I would appreciate your feedback or recommendation. Thank you guys!

Plusieurs cibles pour un même export

Bonjour Les Mewsers,Savez-vous s’il est possible d’automatiser l’envoi de rapports à plusieurs cibles en même temps?En créant les cibles, il n’est pas possible de mettre plusieurs adresses emails en destinataire. Inquired vs. Optional

Hello Community! I am having a hard time understanding the difference between optional and inquired reservations. If a potential guest decides to book an inquiry, how do I know that it has been booked? Should I send optional quotes instead? Should I follow up with guests I have sent an inquiry quote too? If guest confirm optional quotes, how do they show up in the reporting? Please Help! Thank you.

How do I remove a cancelled room from a group reservation?

Is there a way to remove a cancelled room from a group reservation?  It is getting a bit confusing with it hanging out at the bottom of the right-hand pane.  There is nothing I can see to be done with it there, and our front desk people are being overwhelmed. I’d love to even move it to another group.  Is there a way to move a single room off of a group to another?As I type this, I’m sure there must be?
