Hello Mews Community,I’m looking for advice on how to correctly set up tourist tax for our property in The Hague. Currently, we have tourist tax configured as a product with a product rule attached. However, in The Hague, tourist tax is only applicable for guests aged 13 and above.The challenge we’re facing is that the product rule in Mews doesn’t allow us to add age conditions. Has anyone found a workaround or an alternative method to handle this kind of setup?Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance,Ivo

Hallo zusammen,bei uns gibt es die Option rechts über den Kategorien “ Vor Ort Essen” und “Zum Mitnehmen” - gerne würde ich “Zum Mitnehmen” löschen. Man kann da automatisch eine Anpassung der MWST hinterlegen, da wir aber nichts haben, was man mitnehmen kann, würde ich das gerne deaktivieren. Ich weiß allerdings nicht wie. Hi everyone,We’re currently in the process of migrating to Mews, and one of the key areas we’re re-evaluating is our rate structure. In our previous system, we had an overwhelming 200+ rates! These rates were primarily created to gain segment insights and were set up for nearly everything—corporate contracts, GDS bookings, OTA channels, direct bookings, and more. While this worked for us in the past, it led to a lot of complexity in managing, maintaining, and analyzing our rate setup.As we transition to Mews, I’m keen on finding ways to streamline and simplify this approach. For instance:Corporate Rates: I don’t see the need to set up an individual rate for every single corporate negotiated contract anymore. There must be a more efficient way to manage this while still maintaining clarity in reporting and segmentation. Channel Rates: Similarly, creating rates for each channel (OTA, direct, etc.) feels unnecessary, especially since Mews already captures the channel in the reservation da

Hi,I'm looking for clarification on housekeeping intervals for long-stay bookings. Our goal is to clean each room every 7 days, but we want to control the specific day of the week when this cleaning occurs.I assumed that marking a room as "clean" would reset the 7-day interval each time. However, it seems the interval is only tied to the "system" status change date. For example, one room was marked "dirty" on November 5, and we cleaned it on November 8. Ideally, the 7-day interval would start from the most recent clean date (November 8), resetting the next cleaning date to November 15. But in this case, the interval reset on November 12, which is 7 days after the system’s initial "dirty" mark on November 5.Is there a way to adjust settings so the 7-day interval starts from the last manual cleaning date rather than the system date?  

Hallo zusammen,  leider rutschen die Zahlungsinofrmationen immer auf eine zweite Seite, da der TSE QR Code so groß ist. WIr haben schon Kopf- und Fußzeile auf ein Minimum gesetzt. Dann schafft es der QR Code zwar auf die erste Seite, die Bankdetails rutschen jedoch auf die zweite. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit diesen QR Code zu verkleinern? Ich sehe keinen Grund warum der so groß sein muss.  Liebe Grüße! 

Hi! Anyone else here using the Sabre/SynXis integration and having trouble or has some tricks due to age categories? Set up in Mews must be right, because both BE and booking.com take the right rates/ extra fees for children, but somehow the mapping/ connection between Synxis and Mews is not working. Hello, I have been live with the Expedia direct connect with MEWS and been working with support, but I keep getting different answers. I try it, it doesn’t work. I am looking for advice on setting up Expedia Collect and Hotel Collect mapping in market place.We have 2 rate plans, 1 for Expedia Collect and 1 for Hotel Collect. I can only map 1 and I can only select Hotel Collect or Expedia collect.If I use the Expedia Collect rate code with the collect type Expedia, then ALL bookings go to the Expedia Collect rate plan. Meaning, if a guest books Hotel Collect, it books in MEWS against Expedia Collect. And, visa versa on that.This has been a back and forth with support for a month and no solutions from support are fixing the issue. Has anyone else found the right answer?

Good morning, we would like the credit card to be needed in order to make a reservation through our Mews booking engine. Credit card either as a guarantee (standard rate) or charged (if non refundable rate) Ìs there an option ? thanks

Guten Morgen,das Jahr neigt sich dem Ende und ich bin dabei unsere LCR-Verträge zu erneuern - ja, ich bin etwas später dran als sonst. 😅In Protel & Opera konnte ich mir immer einen Production-Report ziehen, um zu schauen, ob die Firmen ihre Ziele erreicht haben oder sich andere Firmen für eine Rate im kommenden Jahr qualifizieren.Leider finde ich aktuell so gar keinen Report, der mir ansatzweise helfen könnte. Bei den bekannten LCRs kann ich natürlich die einzelnen Profile durchgehen und mir in der Übersicht die Reservierungen ansehen. Das ist aber zeitaufwändig und nicht für alle anderen Profile umsetzbar.Der Chatbot schlägt mir den Reservierungsbericht vor, hier habe ich jedoch nur die einzelnen Reservierungen, die ich extrem umständlich und zeitaufwändig pro Profil filtern und dann zusammenrechnen müsste. Das macht leider keinen Sinn.Bevor ich ein Ticket eröffne: Habt ihr einen Weg gefunden, die Production übersichtlich darzustellen?Ich freue mich über eure Rückmeldung. Liebe G

We've noticed, following feedback from a customer who checked in online, that when the customer fills in the online check-in form, the form confirms “the room category assigned”. However, in my opinion, it would be preferable to indicate “the room category reserved”, especially in relation to the paid upgrade feature of the reservation. For example, if we have upgraded a guest for free (for whatever reason, construction work, overbooking, etc.) and then, when they arrive, we change them back to their original category, it could be confusing for them. We've also had the case where the room number assigned to him was confirmed on the form, even though this room number can change at the last minute. Hey,We recently reviewed our data regarding the booking engine and noticed that the conversion rate is really low when users come via Metasearch.For us, this has a lot to do with the information about the hotel that guests receive from the booking engine.Currently, users are redirected straight to the "select category" section, which is generally great, but it can be overwhelming for guests as no other information about the hotel is provided. I think to improve the conversion rate, it would be great to rebuild this section of the booking engine and include the possibility to add more general information.Is there something we might already be missing? What’s your take on this? Would be good to have some feedback. Best Hendrik  

Hello, We’ve been getting Mews emails lately: “as per your request; you can reset your account password ….”However, no (active) staff member or myself asked for a password reset.I can apparently disregard this e-mail. However, should I be worried someone is trying to get into my account?

Dear all, since this week, we notice that booking.com accounts have somehow been hacked and our guests are asked to update their credit card details via a link or else the booking will be cancelled.and a warned person counts for 2, so watch your security and weird messages sent through Booking on your behalf.This happens not only via the extranet but also via SMS/whatsapp.

Hi. I wonder why the action log does not offer any “undo” buttons? As an admin I am also only a human being and I do make mistakes when it comes to setting rates, adjusting rates, changing reservations ao. Pluss the lovely hotel guests make changes, want different rooms ao.Should be a no brainer to put up an “undo” feature? We currently use a third party to handle online checkin and digital keys, one of the main reasons is that we find it useful to know approximately what time guests would like to check in, and this to be automatically reflected in the arrival time shown in Mews. It also gives the guest the opportunity to buy early check in as an extra.Now that Mews is offering digital keys, I want to see if we can stop using and paying for the third party system and do everything in Mews, hopefully also giving a more seamless experience for the guest.According to the Mews support chat it is possible to ask guests for arrival time in the Mews online check in, but I have never been able to find out how to do this.Has anyone got this working directly in Mews?

Hallo zusammenWie handhabt Ihr das mit den House use Zimmern beim Check-In. Diese Zimmer erscheinen ja nicht als Anreisen, weshalb man die immer auf ‘ner separaten Liste aufgeführt haben muss, für Réception und Service.Wir arbeiten mit dem “Raumstatus” als Mouvieliste und dort werden diese natürlich aufgeführt. Es wäre aber schön, wenn diese auch als Anreisen im MEWS erscheinen würde, oder wie seht Ihr das? - Eine “Idea for upvote” dazu besteht schon bereits seit dem Jahre 2020 und seither ist - natürlich ein Mal mehr ;-) - noch nichts weiter geschehen.Freue mich auf ein Feedback von Eurer Seite und wünsche weiterhin frohes Schaffen.Franziska

Is there a way to disable the pre arrival e-mail that is sent the morning of arrival.I know that there is a option in the bookable service but i am not sure if this deactivates both the mail two days before arrival and the mail on the day of arrival.Is there a way to disable only the mailing on the day of arrival?
