Hi Community,

Thank you for another exciting week filled with new features and industry updates. As we move forward, don’t forget to share your feedback on our latest releases and keep the discussions going!

1. Mews POS – Web Interface vs. Mobile App:

Understanding the distinctions between the web interface and mobile app is critical for efficient use. The web interface handles setup tasks like payment methods, tipping configurations, and printer setup, while the app is designed for daily operations. Keep these differences in mind as you optimize your setup.

2. Payment Request by Invoice Feature (Live on October 29):

We're excited to introduce a new payment request feature for invoices! With this update, you can send guests a secure link to pay directly from the invoice, making it easier to collect payments and reconcile them automatically. It's perfect for improving cash flow, reporting accuracy, and overall guest satisfaction.

3. Smart Tips Beta – AI Summaries of Guest Profiles:

Our new beta feature, Smart Tips, generates AI-driven summaries of guest profiles, offering quick insights into guest preferences and booking history. Ideal for creating exceptional guest experiences, this feature is available in demo environments and will soon be rolled out to live properties. Let us know if you'd like to participate!

4. Split Reservation Functionality – Now in Beta:

Managing extended stays just got easier! You can now split a reservation with a couple of clicks, keeping all the original details intact. We've also enhanced the display of cancellation fees, so everything is clearer when changes are made to a booking.

5. Success Story – Bob W in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards:

A big congratulations to Bob W, a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2024! Their tech innovation, powered in part by Mews, has led them to this recognition. You can even support them by voting for the Audience Favourite award!

6. Industry News – Travel & Tourism Emissions Drop:

According to the World Travel & Tourism Council, emissions from the sector have dropped from 7.8% in 2019 to 6.7% in 2023. This is a promising shift, though more effort is needed to move toward renewable energy. Let's continue pushing for sustainability across the industry.

Wishing everyone a relaxing and joyful weekend ahead. 🌟
