We would likes to offer a Black Friday promotion! From 31 October to 31 December (booking window) guests will be able to use a special voucher code when booking via our website. This voucher allows them to reserve stays for the entire year of 2026.
Important details:
The voucher applies only to a non-refundable rate, already discounted by 20%.
This special non-refundable rate is valid for Suite categories only.
All other (standard) rates remain available for all room categories and dates (outside the voucher-only setup).
To participate, guests enter the voucher code at booking. We’d like if the MewsTeam could share more details and tutorials.
Thank you!

Hi, so for this you will need to use a combination f vouchers and restrictions; restricting the rate to only specific dates (Closed to Stay for specific dates), and ensure the restriction is applied to every room except Suite, and every rate except Promo rate. this will close just that rate to everything except the dates you choose and the room type you choose:
Create the promo rate as a dependent rate based on non refundable rate, in the same rate group as non refundable and set the rate to private.
In Vouchers - create the voucher for the booking code, and attach the voucher to the specific rate for
In restrictions - create a restriction that closes the Promo rate to stay across all space categories except suite
Create another restriction that closes the Promo rate to stay for the dates UP TO the first date you want to allow people to book for
Do the same for closing it for sales after the last date you want to book, so if you had sale to allow rooms only from 1st to 31st December to be booked, you should have:
All rooms on that specific rate restricted up to 30th November as Closed to Stay
For the period 1-31 December a restriction for the promo rate to be closed to stay from 1-31st December but ONLY for the rooms types that are not Suite
For the period 1st January onwards, a restriction on the promo rate for ALL room types as closed to stay.
Test… you should see that this allows bookings only for the suite on that promo rate for the period 1-31 December (or whatever dates you choose) and only when entering the voucher code.
An alternate method - create restrictions as above, create a new booking engine instance that has only the Suite and the promo rate mapped, and send this link in emails instead - saves using a voucher code
Matt
Forgot to mention, for the booking window, set the Valid From and Valid to in the voucher code to the relevant dates they can book using it
Hi,
I’m setting up the Black Friday promotion for Suites (Black Friday Suites – Non-refundable, voucher BF2025SUITE) following the official steps, but the promo is not working as expected.
Setup completed so far:
Rate: Black Friday Suites – Non-refundable, created as Private
Voucher: Created and linked to the rate, with correct validity dates
Restrictions applied:
Restriction A: Promo closed to all room types before the promo period (up to 26/11/2025) → works correctly
Restriction B: Promo open only for Suites during 27/11 → 02/12/2025, with minimum stay of 5 nights → not working as expected
Restriction C: Promo closed to all room types after the promo period (from 03/12/2025 onward) → works correctly
Observed issues:
During 27/11 → 02/12/2025, even with the voucher, the promo rate either does not appear or is blocked for some Suites
I suspect the issue may be related to how Space categories / exceptions were configured in Restriction B
Suites were set as the only exceptions, all other room types closed, and minimum stay applied, but the rate still does not show as expected
Restriction B details:
Type: Closed to stay
Interval: 27/11 → 02/12/2025
Rate: Exact rate = Black Friday Suites – Non-refundable
Space categories: All non-Suites closed
Minimum length: 5 nights for Suites
Maximum length: Not applied
I followed all official Mews guides on editing restrictions and setting minimum length of stay, but the promo still does not appear correctly in the booking engine.
Could you please help review Restriction B to confirm if it’s configured correctly, or if there’s a conflict causing the rate to be blocked?
Thank you very much for your support!

Restriction B may not be the issue, have you set a valid from and valid to date in voucher? - for testing do not put this in as you may be trying to access the voucher outside of its validity window?
If not, try removing the minimum length in the number of nights, as sometimes this can cause it to trip up? Instead apply a min length restriction to that rate as a new restriction, separate to the Restriction B?
Hi Matt,
Thanks a lot for your reply! Really appreciate your help! 🙏
Best,
Sensei
What Am I doing wrong..it should allow me to book only 5 nights min and only suites
