Hey @nicolai.bueno thanks for your feedback:
We are a holiday hotel, and our smallest rooms are doubles. We don't have any single rooms. However, it does happen that people come to us individually and then stay alone in a double room. This is maintained in Mews with the negative occupancy rate.
We have a base rate on which all room rates are based. However, in the dependent rates, the prices for negative occupancy cannot be adjusted at all, and the base rate only has a fixed value instead of a relative adjustment. This means that this system is very inflexible when it comes to displaying prices. What happens is that prices for fluctuate greatly when rooms are negatively occupant, because we can't adjust this better in Mews.
To avoid this problem and to better reflect the prices, you can either work with products or extra rates. But both product rules and rate restrictions have the problem that you can't create conditions based on the number of people.
We've regulated this entirely via rates specifically for single occupancy. The problem here is that these are issued externally, regardless of whether this is permitted or not. These rates are therefore available for selection in our quotation tool, which unfortunately often leads to errors where incorrect rates are selected, which is bad for guests and potentially costs us money to resolve the situation.
My question is: is there a sensible solution here that we're not aware of, or can MEWS simply not handle something like this?
I think this would be useful: better price regulations in installments (making price adjustments available in dependent rates, relative price adjustments, perhaps instead of a simple value, a logic in which a product can be linked as a price adjustment in the installment with the settings it has). Better product rules and rate restrictions (making the number of people available as a condition).
