We are facing the problem of changes of the creditor very often such as address or name changes.

Currently we need to cancel the whole invoice and recharge it - which is super complicated.

As well as parts of the invoice are products which we received via API (Bizzon POS / Eventtemple).

By German law it is not allowed to Do changes with Adobe or similar.

How do you handle this?

Thank you for your feedbacks in advance

Hi @Mick ,

thank you for your fast reply.

I know about this functionality but as per our accounting this is not allowed by German law either.

No worries, i thought that woudl work.

By the sounds of it the only way possible is to rebate & correct the complicated way.

There is this guide in the knowledge base which has a work around, but assume it will also be not allowed by law.

Perhaps you could come up with a legal way for it to be done & submit it as a feature request.

All the best with it.

Mick

G’day @Mariusz Siwkowski

Have you tried enabling the “Allow modifying closed bills’ option in the accounting configuration?

As i understand, this won’t allow you to change any dates/financial figures but it will allow you to reassign and modify bills/invoices after closing them.

You can edit the Address & then recreate the PDF invoice, you can allocate to a company or if it’s a name change you can edit the Guest profile & the return to the bill/invoice and save.

I’ve recorded a screenshare demonstarting https://screenrec.com/share/UYAICNcHry

I hope this helps!

Mick

@Mick Thank you for your valuable input as always.🙏

I fully agree with you.

Modifying a closed bill is a very “tricky” topic and in the majority of legal environments, no changes are allowed to be done after the bill closure.

@Mariusz Siwkowski is there a exception to the law which we could possibly look into?
Thank you Both 🌹

Hey @Mick and @Joanna.Svehlova ,

I am already in contact with our accountants to figure out what we want to suggest here 😊

I´ll let you know when it makes sense and is legal 😉

Have a nice weekend.

Hi @Mariusz Siwkowski ,

Hope you are doing well! Currently we are looking into enabling address changes to be made to closed invoices in a way that is supported by German law as well :)

I would love to have a conversation with you to hear your thoughts and show you our plans! Would you be willing to have a call early next week with me? It would be great if your Accountant could be included as well to hear his input on the topic.

Looking forward to hearing!

Warmest regards,

Nienke

Thank you for your reply and willingness to have a chat with us!

Would you by any chance be available:

  • Monday between 13:00 and 14:00
  • Tuesday between 11:00 and 12:00
  • Wednesday afternoon

I would also be extremely curious to speaking to a front office agent/supervisor who conducts these kind of address changes to closed invoices at the moment, in order to understand whether what we have in mind is also intuitive from their point of view. Would that be any possibility?

I have also opened a beta program already on the topic, feel free to keep an eye out on that to keep updated on anything on the topic in the future :D

Looking forward to hear!

Warmest regards,

Nienke
