Hi Zusammen,

Nina

Hi Nina,

We have also recently updated our E-mail templates via the new template creator and struggled a bit from the beginning, but in the end we were able to set everything we needed.

To your questions:

  • Can we insert custom HTML commands ourselves?
    • Yes, it is possible via the HTML content blocks. You can drag and drop it anywhere you like, and then click on it to edit the HTML command. Just be careful about formating. In our case, we firstly created the HTML design element with text and graphic data but then on the final email it did not look well as the formating of our HTML was very different from the formating of the Mews design blocks, but it is still possible to do even the HTML nicely. The old place-holders also works in HTML commands.
  • we'd like to display the guest name under reservation details and also the room category name.
    • For this, would probably be easier to use the “Merge tags” feature. Click anywhere where you would like to palce some dynamic element (Guest name, Room category name, etc...) and click on the Merge tags.

Then just pick from the list the item you are looking for, and it will be added to the place where you clicked. This way you can delete the default structure that mews have in the default template, and make it just as you wish.

In the final email will always be the merged tag replaced by the data from the profile/reservation.

  • Can we make the text under the cancellation section more attractive?

    • Cancelation text is based on 2 different merge tags, “Cancelation Conditions” (vor dem 02.10. um 06:00 Uhr, Amsterdamer Zeit) and  “Cancelation terms” (Kostelnos stornieren). You can only add some text on top or completely delete these 2 merge tags and keep the cancelation conditions only in your Rate description without dynamic element showing the exact deadline date for free cancelation (we did it this way as the texts in Czech language sounds not so good as well.) but unfortunately, it is not possible to change the formulation of the texts from the Merged tags.

I hope this helps you customize the mail templates for your needs.
