Hello!

I´m encountering the following problem. Most of our rates are linked to our Rack rate, hence it is the one I adjust based on occupancy. For this I usually use the occupancy chart which is directly available within the rate, for convinience purposes and to avoid having to switch between several windows.

However, we do also work quite a lot with availability blocks for our group requests, also using the “optional/tentative” option for these groups. Hence, it does happen that certain room categories have a very low availability, because optional groups take over the capacity, however the occupancy shown in the rate window is still low because the group is optional and not definite.

Would it be possible to include a tab in the rate window, that you can decide whether or not it shows the occupancy including optional bookings? This would be very helpful for us!

Or did anyone else find a better solution? As said, we want to avoid have to constantly switch between windows.

Thanks a lot!

Joanne

Hi Joanne,

I can understand that switching between windows is very tedious. Fortunately, I have two monitors, so it's much easier. On one side I have the current, actual availability and on the second monitor I have the availability block. So that I can enter rooms in the availability block (although not actually available due to the optional bookings), I overwrite the category availability, enter the rooms in the availability block and immediately remove the category overwrite. It's certainly not the best work-around, but it works for me.  Best regards, Monja

Hi Joanne,

we also find the current setup rather suboptimal. For this reason, among others, we try to manage pricing directly within the RMS. There, I can view occupancy rates with and without options as percentages and adjust prices directly below that. Unfortunately, there are still some issues with the interface, but once those are resolved, I intend to bypass the Mews menus entirely.

At the moment, I have the pricing menu open on one screen and the availability and occupancy report on the other. In the report, I can see how many rooms are currently on option (and I can filter them out). However, it's inconvenient that options are only shown as room counts — I have to manually recalculate the percentage occupancy.

I would also really appreciate it if Mews offered more flexible display options in this area.

Best regards

Kathi
