Hello everyone, I am curious about your thoughts and solutions:To those of you who allow guest to choose their own specific room at an extra charge.How do you manage this practically and system wise. To my knowledge this is not a feature in mews (yet). How does your Revenue Manager feel about having a space “blocked” for X nights when a different room could have resultet in an additional room being sold? To those who have chosen not to: how come?what were your thoughts and processes?looking forward to hearing from all of you :)

Hi all, I’ve got a problem with automatic mails sent by Mews for Expedia customers.They are all blocked by Expedia with this reason :The file you attached to your message on Wed, 7 Feb 2024 13:17:12 GMT has the same name as a file that was already uploaded. To send your message, first change the name of the attachment then try sending it again. After investigations, it seems that the file in question is the qrcode attached, named qrcode.png Expedia recommends that we use a unique file name per email, like qrcode_uniqueUuid.png to pass the test. Here is their message :Remove the attachment / put the QR code in the body of the email if possible. Add some unique identifier in the file name so it passes this validationDoes somebody expriencing the same problem ? Thank you and have a good shift ! Regards,David.

We have 4 Massage Rooms in our Spa. We are thinking of adding them as a bookable/ hourly service in mews. Is anyone doing that already and can help with experiences? The main Problems we see yet are thatwe can only book full hours in the reservaition interface we have added 1 rate for each masseur, but we cannot restrict the rates with availabilities, so 1 masseur could get booked multiple times

Hallo zusammen,gibt es Erfahrungen hier mit “Friendly Fraud” = Gäste lassen den im Hotel während des Aufenthaltes gezahlten Rechnungsbetrag nach Abreise als “Betrugsfall” durch Ihre Bank zurück buchen, danach die Karte sperren.Wie gehen andere Hotels damit um, werden die fehlenden Einnahmen als Verlust abgeschrieben?Gibt es die Möglichkeit, ggf. über Mews nachzuvollziehen, ob die zur Zahlung genutze Kreditkarte nicht auf den angereisten Gast ausgestellt ist und es sich um einen tatsächlichen Betrugsfall handelt….. Besten Dank! 

Hallo, Gibt es mittlerweile die Möglichkeit, automatische Deposits/ automatische settlement rules mit verschiedenen Mehrwertsteuersätzen anzulegen?Also einmal für Logis und einmal für Produkte beispielsweise?Bei uns wird gerade automatisch nur ein Deposit für die gesamte Buchung inkl. aller Produkte erstellt, alles mit demselben Steuersatz. Das ist ja steuerrechtlich nicht korrekt. Haben wir da eine Einstellung nicht gefunden? Liebe Grüße

Hat jemand Erfahrung damit?Kurz zu mir: Wir haben ein kleines Boutique Hotel mit nur 6 Suiten und ein Boardinghouse mit weiteren 5 Einheiten. Da ich stark eingebunden bin, schaffe ich es nicht alles immer im Blick zu halten.Daher werde ich mich über Eure Infos freuen. Und ganz wichtig wie habt Ihr MEWS mit Pricelabs verbunden? I would like to create a rate or a public voucher, that does not include automatic emails from MEWS to the guest after confirmation. Is this possible?  

Help from Spain based properties,When taking pre payments, a deposit is required to account for tax at the time of payment. To close an invoice to the fiscal registry guest passport/ID details are required. How do you manage to collect passport/ID details at the time of booking or how do you get around the requirement to have this information in order to close invoices? Thanks for advice! 

Has anyone a workaround or been able to edit the local data collection regulations setup in MEWS when they’re incorrectly mandating for information from guests that isn’t legislation.Our profile completion rate is low due to guests not completing the Date of Birth section and the photo ID requirement, neither of which are legislation in this country.

Dear Mews freaks,I am facing a challenge and would like to hear your opinions and possible solutions. Our hotel offers rooms and breakfast and creates invoices in Mews at check-out for all reservations. We also have a nice terrace where we sell drinks to passersby. For these terrace sales we create invoices under the name "external terrace". However, it becomes difficult to request name and address information for billing purposes from every customer who drinks a coffee or a Coke on the terrace.I was recently informed by the tax authorities that every invoice must officially include the customer's name and address. Missing this information can result in a fine between 50 and 500 euros per invoice, depending on the invoice amount. Since I do not exceed 25,000 euros per year for these terrace sales, I do not need to purchase a white cash register.Do any of you have experience with a similar problem and perhaps a suggestion for a solution? I would love to hear your insights and advice.Tha

I've raised this issue a while ago with the premium support, they agreed it was a bug, but told me to 'raise awereness' on the forum to get it fixed. Instead of just fixing it. So here goes:What is going wrong:I set up a rule for Service A to send all prepaid reservations + products for travel agency A to a paymaster. This works fine.   Then I set up bookable service B to send all prepaid reservations + products for the same  travel agency A to the same paymaster.   Then the second rule works fine, but the first rule suddently "forgets" to send the products, and only sends nights.   And when you go and fix rule number 1, then rule number 2 starts forgetting to send the products.End result: We are stuck with hundreds of tourist tax, breakfast and cleaning fee items on the guests bill, and not on the paymasters. Can somebody tell a developer? Or tell me if I might be doing something wrong here?

Could you please let me know, if that’s the correct way to find them:Accounting ledger report – Mode: Grouped – Type: General – Date: 31.12.2023 23:59 – Group by: Accounting category. And then after ‘view report’ the ‘open prepayments’ are for the guests who paid for their future stay in 2024? Thank you in advance for your help!

Is it possible, and if so how, to set up a payment rule that automates the charging of a remaining balance due on the morning of a reservation’s arrival/start date?At the time of booking through the booking engine on our website, we collect payment for the first night’s room/tax plus any add-ons included during the booking/confirmation process. For multi-night reservations, the remaining balance is comprised of room/tax for nights 2 and beyond. I have not been able to figure out how to do set up a settlement rule. My first rule collects 100% of the first night plus additional expenses an products. When I attempt to create a second rule, I get an error message advising me “The sum of settlement values from all settlement rules with ‘Charge payment card’ action related to the parent rate group with ID… cannot be more than 100%”. Makes sense, but he only other option is a flat amount.  

I asked the AI support bot how I can post offline charges to room accounts but found no relevant information in the results or guidance offered. Our Square POS terminals in our outlets are not integrated with Mews because this integration hasn’t been released yet (or hadn’t as of late last year). Our Guests want to be able to charge their purchases from our outlets to their room accounts, including bar and restaurant checks. At our outlets, a Guest’s charge can be settled to a comp account in Square to balance the POS system and then the charge is physically passed off to the hotel’s front desk for the charge to be added to the Guest’s account manually. Posting it manually to the account is where I need help.So far, whenever I have had non-standard items that need to be charged to a Guest’s account, as the admin, I’ve had to create a product that is for the specific amount to be charged. Hi all, ik vroeg me af hoe Belgische collega's dezelfde ervaring hebben. Er wordt in Mews namelijk 0% btw op de annuleringskosten berekend terwijl onze inschatting was dat dit standaard 6% zou moeten zijn. Volgens MEWS is 0% vastgelegd in de Belgische wetgeving, klopt dat?Warme groetenPatrick

Hallo! Wir sind grade wieder dabei uns ein Controlling Dashboard in Excel zu bauen.. Dafür wollte ich sowohl die Room Nights, als auch die Anzahl an Reservierungen aus Mews rausziehen. Die Room Nights bekomme ich aus dem Manager Bericht. Die Anzahl der Reservierungen kann ich mir aus dem Reservierungsbericht ziehen. Die Frage die sich mir dabei stellt ist, welchen Filter ich im Reservierungbericht auswählen muss. Denn egal was ich dabei eingebe, die Room Nights entsprechen in keinem Fall den RN aus dem Manager Bericht. Weiß jemand auf welcher Basis die RN im Manager Bericht sind? Oder welchen Filter ich auswählen muss? Ich habe sowohl überlappend, als auch Anreisen und Im Haus ausgewählt.. Die kleinste Differenz ist bei dem RN bei “überlappend (40 Nächte).
