Hi everyone,

We have enabled seasonal derived rates in demo environments to collect feedback before we release to GA in the near future.

For clarity, this would mean the functionality to be able to derive a dependent rate differently per day or even per space-category.

I made a small video explaining the functionality: Seasonal pricing in PMS - call for betas.webm

We invite you to test this in your demo environments and please do let us know what you think of this!

Hi Saurabh, we would love to test this for property C-Hotels Andromeda.

Hello!

Although this feature looks nice, we would rather like to have an additional “promotion” layer to seasonally adjust prices accross the board. Think about the booking.com promotion feature, but for mews operations, distributing your promotion setup all across the board (Mews BE, channel Manager, Commander/Operations). I know it cannot be identical to the promotions on booking, but for basic seasonal promotions or booking window and/or rate (group) restricted pricing it would be a wonderful addion.

Lets call it a “promotion” setup. One could setup a new promotion that is stacked on the very top of all existing pricing mechanisms and restrictions. For example

  • Seasonal promotion “Summer early bird”
    • applies to rate group “prepaid-non refundable” and rate “semi-flexible”
    • applies to all dates in July - August 2025
    • applies to room types xy, xx, and zz
    • discount of 15%

As the feature is explained in your video this would be sort of possible, but not on base rates. An managing it within pricing could be tedious for more complex setups, and if you want to discount several rates at once. I just think that this does not logically belongs in the basic pricing setup, but should be managed in a separate “promotions” tab, that needs to be created. To me it just seems more logical to have discounting seperately and not mixed with basic rate derivations…

Just my 2 cents… :-)

Kind regards,

JP.

Hi,

would love to test it on Definitely different’s properties !

thanks in advance.

Hi @StijnD and @Antoinefedal You should have it on demo already - we enabled it for everyone. We plan to do a Production test super soon! Could you give it a spin on demo?

Hi @j.spiess Thanks a ton for the suggestion. Do you think it’s a good idea to touch base next week to have a look through the promotions concept? Would be nice to discuss it in a call with a screen perhaps. Feel free to book a slot here: Book time with Saurabh Bhatia: 30 minute slot if you agree!

Thanks :)

Hi @bsaurabh !

I have booked a slot with you ;-)

Let me document one more thing right here, before I forget: promotions could also be activated selectively only for each “MEWS channel” like MewsBE, Operations, ChannelManager, … that would allow to use OTA promotion tools and also activate a similar promotion for example only in mewsBE and Operations, but not on the channel manager integration (as this would then affect OTA rates twice).
The idea is to be able to use OTA promotion tools but also offer the same promotion on your direct channel - something that’s just not possible with MewsBE at the moment, if I am correct.
Perspectively, even going a step further and managing promotions also on the OTAs or via channel managers via the official APIs could be considered - I know, could be daunting… but not impossible, booking.com offers a “Promotions API” (https://developers.booking.com/connectivity/docs/promotions )

Dreaming of a fully integrated future: manage all your promotions form within MEWS, push them to OTAs and channel managers (who in turn push it to connected channels) and stay in parity (if that’s your desired goal). Until then let’s take a shortcut and just adjust prices sent to channel managers (easy to implement, but less powerfull). :-)

JP.
