Handling availability blocks

Hmm I wonder if Linus has understood your question correctly as I interpret it a bit differntly? Has your question been answered with the above?? If so, then Linus, I would be curious if you could explain in more detail, as personally I do not really understand what you mean by creating 2 booking engines? Or is there a link that explains this? From our experience, guests always have to enter their credit cards as seems to be set by Mews as per default. Albeit in the onlline check-in process. So, Jasmin, did you mean that or something else?? Best, Sandra

Your question makes perfectly sense!

In Mews you have the option to create multiple Booking Engines. So the one you use for groups where no CC is needed as everything is billed to the company can be different from the one you use for other guests.

You can find an overview of your BE’s in Mews under Services > Stay services > Booking engines.
Here you can set-up multiple Booking Engines and thus create different ones for group bookings where no CC is needed or for tracking purposes (ie. Google Hotel Search).

Hello @Sandra , the answer has definitely helped me, as I didn't know the function with which I can switch off the payment query.
As Matthias has already written, I am mainly concerned with group reservations where no individual payment should be made.

Hello everyone, I have now checked the function again and unfortunately there are still errors.
I have selected a rate including breakfast in the block. However, the products are missing in the reservation. Would someone from Mews please contact me again? 

Hi ​@Jasmin H. rates that are used in Availability Blocks are copies of the original rate and these copies do not follow the product rules of the original rate. What we do (to add an including breakfast-product), is add these to the reservation with 1 click once it has been picked up (by selecting all reservations in the group).

So it still seems to me to be a useless tool, as it creates extra work. Why does it need a copy of a rate to create a block?
It's much easier for us to work with our IBE in this case (not from Mews).

Hi Jasmin,

I saw that Sanne already mentioned that when creating a block you also create a copy of the original rate (in order to be able to use the same rate for multiple blocks, but set unique prices etc.).
Unfortunately the product rules does not follow through to this new copy.
What we found though is that If you adjust the product rule to be applied to a Rate Group instead of a rate the breakfast will be added aslo for block reservations, since rate group is kept the same.

And ​@Jasmin H. I just thought of something: if you have a product rule set up as “not equals (a certain rate)” that that can be used for availability block rates. Since it only does not recognize a specific rate, you are able to do it the other way around and add a product if it does not match a certain rate. For example; we have city tax as a product. We have a product rule for “rate not equals complimentary’ to add city tax, so all rates get city tax as a product - availability block rates included. This may help you. Have a great day!
