Hello folks!
Hope you’re all well!
You probably knew that you can change the mails that we send out through Mews PMS, or you didn’t, which now means you have something interesting to test out (in your demo-environment first)! Are you aware of the additional value you can create for your guests?
Deloitte wrote a study on personalization and the benefits that are derived through more thereof. In the same study, they write that 2 out of every 3 consumers are more likely to lean towards brands that can predict their needs. If there’s something we’ve learned throughout the years, it’s that people need to eat – so why not introduce a restaurant - or the option to book a table in your own – already in the confirmation email?
In the same study, Deloitte writes that 75% of consumers spend an additional 37% more with brands that offer them personalized experiences. Broadly speaking, this doesn’t necessarily just apply to consumers in eCommerce, but also guests at your hotel.
It goes to show that with a little more personal ’touch’ in our messaging, we can achieve more with the same guest – potentially. Of course, there are many factors to this, and the number of services offered will also play a big part.
That all being said, there are some short-term actions we can take to add incremental value to our guests. Many of Mews’ e-mail templates can be edited by following these steps. You can find a complete list of our e-mails here.
To understand our e-mails and what they do, it’s important to understand how they are built:
-
We use HyperText Markup Language (“HTML”), a “language” to format (among other things) text and images.
-
Additionally, we use “Placeholders”, small ‘snippets’ of code with predetermined behaviour, meant to enrich e-mails with information about the hotel, the guests booking, and more.
There are great posts here on Mews Community, but also an incredible amount of information on how to use HTML overall, and it does not have to be complicated (though I do understand it is if you’ve never used it). There are great editors (free!), that you can use to create emails in a visual editor, that will then provide you with the code that you simply paste in the Mews email editor. One such editor is Beefree.
How are you using e-mails today? Do you feel that you are efficient in your use, or what are some of the things you would like to do even better?
Please feel free to share below!
Thank you in advance and best regards!
