PayPal payment

Hi,

We accept paypal but via a different payment processor. You can take a look at woocommerce which accepts it or rather via stripe accepts it.

You would need your own stripe and woocommerce account.

What you would need to do is program your BE that when a guest chooses paypal, it would redirect to the woocommerce (e-commerce) shop and they could checkout like that. 

At the moment, we are using Mews payments which unfortunately does not accept paypal. But Stripe does.

But how can you let the guest choose the payment and redirect to a different payment page in the MEWS booking engine ?

I just answered this on the other page, but you could do this with some HTML coding… You would need a programmer/coder who could add a redirect button on the final page of the booking process which would lead you to the stripe.woocommerce page with paypal as an option. However, do not forget to cross settle when the payments go through and you would have to be on top of no payment.

Any news on this topic after one year? We are still waiting. 
 

Whilst on this subject, having flexibility as hotel operator to decide yourselve with what payment options (and psp) to work would be ideal in my opinion. Having said that, if you look at Stripe and its payment options.. it would make perfect sense to have the hoteliers simply pick and mix the payment options, ideally even per booking engine that you create. Different markets require different payment possibilities!

The product team is looking into the plans for 2025 and the is one of the discussion topics, that said, it is definitely not going to appear this year or before end of Q1 2025.

since Q1 is almost over, can you say something about the the Pay Pal Integration? German Customers are not using Credit cards a lot. I need an alternative way for cusomierts to book over the booking engine and when they pay the Tax f.e.

This is Medina from Mews, Product Manager for Payment Experiences. I can confirm PayPal is on our roadmap for this year and the team has picked up the development. I cannot give you a date yes, and it is a challenging integration as it is not only about the technical integration, but also the way we would do payouts and onboard you as a customer for this processor. 

Meanwhile, i will reach out to some of you to find out more about the pain points and current use of PayPal in your region.

We’re continuing to make steady progress on our PayPal work. Right now, our teams are focused on finalizing the technical setup and validating the key payment flows to make sure everything is reliable and compliant.
