Hallo Kathlyn,
ich bin Maximilian, der deutsche Übersetzer von Mews. Leider hat es einen Fehler gegeben, der zur Übersetzung vom englischen Ms. zu Fräulein im Deutschen führte. Ich habe diesen Fehler korrigiert und die Anrede Fräulein sollte in den nächsten 24 Stunden durch Frau ersetzt werden. Ich entschuldige mich im Namen von Mews für die entstandenen Probleme.

warum wird denn Frau grundsätzlich 2mal angezeigt - macht doch überhaupt keinen Sinn? 
Ich vermute dass es vom Mrs. uns Miss. kommt aber das solle im DACH Raum keine Rolle spielen.

Wenn ihr das so kurzfristig bearbeiten könnten wäre es doch klasse das gleich richtig zu stellen:)

I work with Max and manage the overall translation process.
This is indeed connected to the English options Mrs and Miss, and how our system is set up. This is on our radar, as we like to adapt it better to other languages. It’s not as simple as the initial translation fix though, it’s a much more complicated process and needs input from the wider product team. I will forward your feedback to the teams involved, thanks for highlighting it.

Actually I think the current solution is just OK, if Fräulein is changed back to Frau.

Mr. → Herr

Mrs. → Frau

Ms. → Frau

However, when selecting “female”/”weiblich” in a profile it should default to “Ms.” or the equivalent “Frau”.

Currently, there just is no equivalent of “Fräulein” in the english Mews. “Miss.” is not there, at least not in our Mews...

I don’t know too much about the english speaking communities preferences and importance of “Mrs.”, but is that really needed ? Just stick with Mr./Herr and Ms./Frau  …

I believe there are some strings attached, depending on country and language, so we need to approach this carefully. There also needs to be a discussion whether it can be more simplified, like you suggested, or maybe we should expand the choice and make it more inclusive. I’ll pass on your feedback to the product teams so they can look into this.

Since it has been a full year since the last post, i am sure the product team provided some information. 

Is there a feature request related to this that we can upvote?

We’re also experiencing recurring confusion on our end, as there are currently two identical "Frau" options available in the German version.
