Hi all,

 

i am just wondering if there is no place where a guest can enter their billing/company Adress during the guest journey or online check in.

 

We really need a solution in here for 

  1. Online Check in /out
  2. Kiosk
  3. Booking Engine

The guest need to be able to add the company/billing adress in the check in process. This adress need to be added to the folio. 

 

A idea to implent would be on the online check in page in the guest portal. So when the guest is selecting “Business” as purpose of Stay an additional area for Billing Adress is beeing shown:

 

 

What does other customer think aboout this and how do you deal with this situation?

I absolutely agree we spent hours and days every month correcting company invoices. This would be extremely helpful if there is way that make it clear to the guest and also let them know it can’t be changed after the bill has been closed.

we we highlighting this topic in all appointments with MEWS.

The current Idea is to give the guest the possibility to see his existing addresses (from guest profile) via the guest portal.

There he/she can then choose one of the addresses as the billing address or add a new one.

 

The guest portal can be reached via the Link in the online check-in invitation e-mail.

We requested to get the option to create an additional e-mail only getting the guest into the guest portal to set the billing address and/or add the credit card details as a reservation guarantee.

 

If this would exist we could then use as well the MEWS-Kiosks and in the future mobile key.

 

We are a huge conference hotel where about 80% of the guests need a different billing address.

 

The only existing way is to set a zapier conncetion and send an own form to the guest to add the billing address. 

This costs extra money.

i agree that this is after correction of closed bills😉 one of the most wanted feature propably.

 

  So your idea is more or less the same that the guest should change the billing adress in the guest portal which he can access with the link sent by mail during online check in invitation. 

This must be integrated in a simple way to the guest journey. 

 

It is not comfortable to send the guest another form via zapier rather than updating the existing way of using Mews check in

There isn’t anything available yet to capture an alternative billing address during check-in, but we are looking at how to address this.

We need to do further work on this solution, but we are working on something similar to what you’re suggesting in this topic where the guest can choose to provide an alternative billing address during the check-in experience.

Good to hear that you are working on a way to solve this as this is, especially for the DACH Market a very important feature and we waste a lot of time on correcting bills or adding the company adress. Do you have a rough timeframe on when this will be available? I am also happy to beta test and give further feedback on this feature

right now guests get creative. They write their company name in the first name or name field during online check-out. This does not help as we often have to manually correct the invoice (cancel and reissue) afterwards.

So basically you could say that online check-out is not possible if you need an invoice with the correct company address AND this address is not in the company profile and connected to the reservation.

Correct invoice data is always an issue and produces too much unnecessary handling on our side. I don't  know if the issue can be solved if guests access the profile data. We experience a lot of corrections needed from online bookings because guests themselves do not write in the correct or incomplete company name. This would produce multiple business profiles which might be even worse.

A first quick solution and an improvement to the current situation would be a simple info field, that the correct billing address has to be left with the hotel before check-in. Or there is a free text field the guest can use during check-in in order to send the correct billing address. Then the hotel would have to update the profile before online checkout! Doesn't sound like a perfect solution and probably doesn't really solve the issue.

I am keen to see what kind of solution mews comes up with.

nothing is impposible for our hotel guest, thats true 😅

This makes it not better even more worse for operations. Thats why they need to have a place to put in their billing adress in anyway. But i agree that they should not be able to read/change  any company profiles in Mews. It should be a place where they can leave this and front office can check if the profile is already existing rather than adding a new / duplicte

I fully agree with this post. This is probably the most urgent opportunity I see currently in terms time efficiency and guest satisfaction. 

We really need a solution to enable proper invoicing through the kiosks. 

The guest needs to be able to add the company/billing address at the check in process. This address needs to be added to the folio.
