Brussels 1st Roundtable

Hi all, 👋

Thanks again for joining our session last week. We really appreciate you taking out time in your day to attend this meeting, and to have hopefully walked away with some more knowledge about the system's capabilities. Not only that, but also with the knowledge that there is a bigger Mews Community in Belgium and that we want to connect you all to ensure the best possible experience and to build up the trust in our system. 🎆

We are still following up on the individual notes we've taken, but I just wanted to give you all a quick summary of the conversation's outcomes per topic. In the attachment of this email, you will find the slideshow of the discussions we had after lunch for reference.

📊Customer Effort Score📊

What really started the conversation was the 8th slide, the one showing the results per department. Overall Belgian properties are a little more positive on the ease of use of the system compared to the global average, all but one department is above the average score. This sparked a conversation around how the reservation departments are handling the incoming reservations and where the pain points lie. It mostly revolves around the capabilities of availability blocks and how they can work with groups coming in through tour operators. There were a few suggestions regarding an EMS (Event Management System). The only recurring topic is that all of these connections are 1.5-way connections, instead of 2-way integrations. We will provide this feedback to the right teams of course.

🚀Guest Journey🚀

The discussion was mostly around the topic of the benefits of using the Mews journey compared to an integration partner, offering part of this journey. Which of the two offers a more cohesive result and how can you customize this to the brand of your property.

Another interesting topic that came up during this part is regarding the online check-in, and the potential for upselling during this stage of the reservation. On slide 11 you can see the average percentage of the standard online check-in in comparison to that in combination with our SMS product. On top of that, our data shows that the online check-in numbers will increase once SMS is enabled, opening up space for a potential upsell. The global average is displayed on the slide as well, so this is an additional €18 added per reservation when the option for product promotions in enabled.

If you'd like to enable this feature, please have a look here.

A suggestion that came up during the char about the Guest Journey was if Mews is planning to add outgoing messages to the platform, to increase the communication flow with the guests.

Another follow-up point for us will revolve around the option of offering local non-profit organizations in the workflow of the property. Meaning another solution then Hotels for Trees to be able to work with your preferred charity.

🤓VAT identifiers🤓

One topic everyone agreed with is that we should have a look at how the VAT numbers are formatted, or rather not formatted. We'll bring this up with our product team and see what is possible there, especially since it relates to a legally required report. We'll also bring up the option to have the VIES validation embedded in the system for the future as an idea suggestion.

🦾MewsPOS🦾

During the presentation from Bjorn we went over the functionalities of the system and how adding MewsPOS can tie into the guest journey you all already have established. On top of that we've looked at the wider range of options where QR codes could be applied.

In case you would like to request a demo, please let your Customer Success Manager know and they will arrange it with you.

Besides these 3 topics and one product suggestion there was some open space for discussions at the end of the day. So a short overview can be found below:

👯Mews Community👯

The biggest one included setting up a Brussels and Belgium community in our portal. Which is why I'm sharing the link for the sign up again here. The only way for us to set up this community is if we have some users on the platform already. So, once we've received some confirmations that you've signed up, we can get started on this project.

Lastly, we of course want to invite you to the biggest Mews event we are hosting this year, which is Unfold volume 5. Via the link below you can register yourself to join this event on the 29th of May.

In case you have any further questions regarding the discussions we've had, please feel free to reach out. We truly hope you all enjoyed the day and had some great takeaways from the first 'Round table' in Belgium! 🙏

Kind regards,

Merel 🌸

One quick addition to my previous message, @DamienJanssens has kindly offered to host the next roundtable at Mercure Roeselare, so watch this space for the announcements!
