We would like to learn from you!

To understand how you are managing Availability blocks, especially restrictions on your blocks, we would like to ask you a couple of questions:

  1. How are you using restrictions in your blocks?
  2. Who is responsible for restricting your blocks? (which department/team)
  3. How satisfied are you with how Mews is managing restrictions for your availability blocks?
  4. Is there anything we can improve with regards to restrictions in blocks?

Looking forward to your insights!

Warmest regards,

Nienke

We have an issue with blocks for weddings where we hold rooms for wedding, and then as they book we want to separate them into their own reservations.

For example SMITH wedding agrees that their guest will rent a minimum of 10 rooms.

We BLOCK those rooms for SMITH.

As they fill, they want to be their own reservation as they will not be sharing any payments or charges with the other rooms in the SMITH group.

As of now, there is no way to convert them to an independant reservation and remove them from the block.

The process is:

  • Screenshot the reservation
  • Delete the reservation
  • Remove the room from the block
  • Create a new reservation with the information from the screenshot

Unless there is a better way to do this?

Thank you
Ethan

Hello Ethros,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Would you be able to confirm if you are using availability blocks for this use case?

The reason I ask Is as blocks are picked up regardless of the origin for example booking engine links, or in Mews.  A new reservation is created with the bill amount set per reservation. It is also possible to create a booking engine link that requires payments to be taken at the time of pick up which can also allow for individual billing.  You can do this by setting the “Payment card input” as required. The only exception to this is if you had routing for a company.

Please do let me know via DM if there is an example where this was not the case.

Kind regards,

Aldair

This is sort of the use case.

Getting the rooms to be picked up by the block is not a problem.

Getting them OUT of the block is a problem.

We want to use the block to literally “Block Rooms”

Once the room is picked up; we want to move it OUTSIDE the block; so it is a stand alone reservation.

This is what seems not to be possible.
