Dear MEWS Community,

Screen real estate is precious, especially when managing reservations, yet there are many ways to maximize the use of this limited space. A simple improvement would be to display more information in the hover-box that appears when you mouse over a reservation.

Currently, the hover-box only shows the guest's first and last name along with their arrival and departure dates. This information is almost redundant, as it’s already visible on the timeline screen. Additionally, the hover-box is relatively small compared to the available screen space, which leaves room for more relevant details.

Why not make better use of the hover-box by adding more useful information? The possibilities are endless. Here’s an example of what it could display:

  • Name: Mr. Donald Duck
  • Dates: Sun 29.09.24 - Mon 30.09.24 (1 night)
  • Rate: Flexible Rate
  • Total Amount: 888 EUR
  • Note: This is a sample.

Ideally, these settings would be customizable by the property or even individual users. If static information is used, this should be an easy feature request for the development team, as the complexity is low. If the information is configurable by the property or user, it would add flexibility but with slightly higher complexity.

In either case, this enhancement would make it much easier for users to retrieve essential reservation information at a glance, without the need to click through each individual booking.

Not sure if I posted this “thought” in the correct category ... I do miss a category “Discussions & Thoughts”.

Thanks

Ed
