❗️❗️❗️ Hi Robin, good question! This isn´t a live session (meaning a call) but Gustavo will be responding to the written questions under this post (we have none so far, so you can kick it off).

Like this, the questions will be written and replied to here and everyone can see them even later!

I hope it makes sense and looking forward to your questions!

Hi Marketa,
Got it! I was hoping to get a live demostration of the terminal, but my questions based on This article are;

  1. Is the Mews POS required in order to use this terminal?
  2. Can we use these terminals in Sweden, Denmark and Germany without the Mews POS?
  3. Apart from WI-FI, can these terminals be connected to the network via cable or SIM card?
  4. What is the limit of product items we can add?

To clarify on question 1, - We are not customers of the MEWS POS, but would like a simpler POS for our limited service hotels. My question is if the S2 Terminals has their own build in POS and can be used standalone or not.

Hi,

is there an live event now?

We use Mews POS + POs Payments via Stripe Terminals in several hotels but are having issues that we cant send the payment to the terminals recently.

When are the new terminals avalable and what is the monthly costs for them?

Hi Robin! Thanks for reaching out with your questions. Let me help answer them below:

  1. Is the Mews POS required in order to use this terminal? To use Mews Terminal S2 as an Order and Payment device, you need Mews POS. Alternatively, you can use Mews Terminal S2 as a standard standalone payment terminal, but be aware it will not have any POS capabilities.
  2. Can we use these terminals in Sweden, Denmark and Germany without the Mews POS? Yes, you can use these devices as standalone in these countries for payment only. See here for the full list of country availability: https://www.mews.com/en/products/terminals/comparison
  3. Apart from WI-FI, can these terminals be connected to the network via cable or SIM card? By default, these terminals are Wi-Fi enabled. However, they can be connected via an internet cable, though a separate dock is required for this.
  4. What is the limit of product items we can add? Please could you give me some additional context? If you’re asking whether it's possible to add an unlimited number of products in Mews POS, the answer is yes—you can add as many products as you'd like!

Hi 👋

Thank you for your answers.
If the S2 Terminal is dependent on the Mews POS, in order to use it as an Order and Payment device, it is not for us at the moment.

Hello Linus, thank you for your questions:

We use Mews POS + POs Payments via Stripe Terminals in several hotels but are having issues that we cant send the payment to the terminals recently. I’m very sorry to hear you're having trouble. Have you submitted a support ticket? If so, please respond with the ticket number, and I'll escalate it to our support team to resolve the issue.

When are the new terminals avalable and what is the monthly costs for them? The Mews Terminal S2 is now available for order through the Marketplace or your CE Manager. Pricing depends on your specific setup, but be sure to ask about our promotion, running until the end of 2024. Customers only pay monthly fees for the device, no ePOS license fee - now, or ever! I’d encourage you to contact your CE Manager to check your eligibility for the promotion!

Worth noting, one advantage we're seeing with the Mews Terminal S2 is enhanced performance in metrics such as transaction speed due to the integration of POS and payments into a single device.
