Hello, Mews Community!

Today, we're diving into the use of Bundles, Modifiers, and Variants in your product setups, all designed to streamline the guest experience and enhance operational efficiency.

When to use Bundles?

Bundles are a great way to combine products into one and avoid confusion for your guests. A product bundle is a feature that includes multiple products or their variants into a package and treats them as one item in the cart or invoice.

Example: daily menu, 3-courses menu, Sunday menu

When to use Modifiers?

Modifiers are used to make a distinction between the same item without creating new products or variants.

You can use modifiers to:

-             Make temperature variations (For example: cold or warm milk)

-             Add side dishes (For example: salad or fries)

-             Exclude something from a regular order (For example: WITHOUT egg)

Modifiers don't necessarily affect the price, nor are they visible on the invoice, but they make a big difference to the kitchen and bar staff as well as to the customer.

Please note that you can also add a fee for additional modifiers (e.g. topping caramel +3 euros etc.)

When to use Variants?

If a product comes in different flavors, serving sizes, doneness degrees, or colors it is best to create it as a product with variants.

The main- enables a cleaner user interface.

Adding multiple variant options (e.g. Size, Flavors, Kind, etc.) for one item is possible. Note that at least two values must be defined for each variant option.
