Hello Mews Community, we're putting on our learning hats and seeking some insights about guests’ transportation methods and how that features (if at all) in your interactions with guests 🤓

 

Some questions at the top of our minds:

  • How do guests typically get to and from your establishment?
  • How often does your front office/guest services team help guests with arranging transportation? For example, a taxi to/from the airport or train station.
  • How would a guest make such a request and how does your team help fulfill that request? 
  • Are there preferred companies you work with to provide transportation services to your guests? For example, you always call on taxi companies A, B, and C for your guests because these companies provide reliable service and charge a fair price.
  • Do you have any revenue sharing agreements with preferred transportation partners?
  • Are there any incentive programs for Front Office team members when it comes to ordering rides for guests, and if so, what does that look like?

    > taxi or private limo transfer from Schiphol Airport or cruise terminal. 
  • How often does your front office/guest services team help guests with arranging transportation? For example, a taxi to/from the airport or train station.
    > for about 50% of our guests
  • How would a guest make such a request and how does your team help fulfill that request? 
    > private car / transfer company that we work with
  • Are there preferred companies you work with to provide transportation services to your guests? For example, you always call on taxi companies A, B, and C for your guests
    because these companies provide reliable service and charge a fair price.
    > fixed company that we work with, that only does hotel transfers in AMS. (nothing like blacklane or so)
  • Do you have any revenue sharing agreements with preferred transportation partners?
    > yes we charge a premium over their rates
  • Are there any incentive programs for Front Office team members when it comes to ordering rides for guests, and if so, what does that look like?
    > not (yet)

    • Taxi or private transfer from the airport
  • How often does your front office/guest services team help guests with arranging transportation? For example, a taxi to/from the airport or train station.
    • Airport Transfers: almost weekly
    • Train station transfers: +/- 60% of all guests
  • How would a guest make such a request and how does your team help fulfill that request? 
    • Pre-arrival via email or Mews Chat
    • During stay: at the desk
  • Are there preferred companies you work with to provide transportation services to your guests? For example, you always call on taxi companies A, B, and C for your guests because these companies provide reliable service and charge a fair price.
    • Yes, we work together with a local taxi company for all transfers.
  • Do you have any revenue sharing agreements with preferred transportation partners?
    • No.
  • Are there any incentive programs for Front Office team members when it comes to ordering rides for guests, and if so, what does that look like? 
    • No.

I would say, there are more important issues to be programmed for a better and easier use of mews.

For example the new company billing needs the option to pay by credit card. Just because a guests wants his invoice on a company adress doesn´t mean he is not paying directly by credit card. Its a lot of clicks until one can finally print the bill…. Oh, and it would be fantastic to have the possibility to splitt the Payment. A guest pays for the stay and a beer. he wants it all off his credit card in one transaction but the beer should not show on the invoice… so , how do we do that with mews terminal ?
