Hello Mews Community, we are excited to announce that we’re working on enabling rolling release dates for group blocks. Rolling release dates will enable you to set release dates for example 7 days before the start of a block for a rolling period. We believe this functionality will be a great step towards supporting travel agency contracts in your property.

 

We plan to run a gradual roll out for the functionality for a global release in Q4 2023, with early access to beta testers. The roll out plan will be as follows:

  1. Multi-group support in blocks.
  2. Rolling release dates.

 

Multi-group blocks

Multi-group blocks will enable you to create multiple groups with up to 750 reservations each in a single block. This means that you will no longer have to create multiple blocks for large groups which is typically of blocks created for up 1 year for travel agency contracts. They can now all be automatically linked to a single block, effectively giving you 2 types of blocks 1) Single group blocks and 2) multi-group blocks. 

 

Multi-group blocks are a prerequisite to activating rolling release dates, as they prepare your property for handling large groups. You can learn more about the features that will be made available to beta testers in the recording linked below:

We plan to stage the first beta of multi-group blocks on the 25th of September.

 

Rolling release dates

Rolling release dates are the final step and will be published to beta testers once we have successfully completed testing of multi-group blocks.

 

We expect the beta release for this feature in October before the global release.

 

How can you help?

  1. Multi-group blocks beta - please reply to this thread with the property you’d like to try this out in your demo or live property.
  2. Rolling releases - After the successful testing of multi-group blocks, we publish a notification for beta testing rolling release dates.

When can we have the demo version please

Hi @wahiba  the feature should have been active in your demo property as of Monday. If you are not able to see the feature, please may you send the the url of your property from the Mews dashboard so that I can confirm that the correct property has been activated.

We are very happy to announce that Mews is taking the first step towards allotment functionality with rolling release dates (which includes multiple release rules!) for those interested in tested in demo, the feature is active and you are welcome to get going as of today!

 

For those interested in testing in production, please send me a direct message and I will active your property on Monday.

What’s next?

Great functionality should be lovable, which sometimes means simple things that make your life easier. To make this release lovable we’ll be providing additional flexibility to override releases per day. This means front office teams, have more power to provide a flexibility for last minute changes their guests made in just 2 clicks! This feature will be activated to beta testers before the global release.
