It is my pleasure to invite you to our newest Beta: our New Email Editor!
For hoteliers seeking a simple and intuitive email design experience, Mews' new email editor offers a user-friendly interface that eliminates the need for HTML coding, empowering users to create stunning emails effortlessly.
What it is:
A user-friendly email editor designed for Mews users.
What it can do for you:
Custom Templates: Edit Default Templates to create Customised Email Templates
Multi Languages: easily translate emails right from the interface
What you see is what you get editor: Ensure the best user experience possible by seeing what you are working with, so you can be confident about what your Guest will see
Drag-and-Drop Interface: Easily create and customize email templates without any coding
But don’t worry, savvy users can also add an HTML block and code their emails
Responsive Design: Ensures your emails look great on both desktop and mobile devices
Reusable Content Blocks: Save and reuse content blocks to streamline your email creation process
Mobile Design Mode: Design and preview emails specifically for mobile devices; the editor already builds responsive emails by default
Preview Mode: Easily view final email in preview mode
How can you get started:
The new Editor will replace the existing one right in your Mail Templates page (Settings > Guest Experience > Mail Templates; or via the top search bar).
To experience it in demo or production:
Reply to this thread with the property you’d like added to this beta, and if that property is in Demo or Production I do recommend trying it in Demo first, just to get familiar with the new tool
I’ll enable it within my next working day (I promise I will be quick )
What about my existing, custom emails?
Do not worry! Your existing templates will be exactly as they are today.
We are not force-migrating the existing custom templates to the new editor.
Default emails: will be automatically moved to the new editor, with a refreshed look and clearer phrasing but providing the same reservation/guest information, links etc.
The property logo and header image will automatically be replaced by your logo and “sign in picture” when these emails are sent.
From there, you can customize and save them with the new editor!
(Old) Custom emails: will remain on the old editor and work as they always did. They will be tagged with “Review”.
If you would like to move them to the new editor, save the old code somewhere and delete the custom email (on the top right corner of when editing that email type). By deleting it, this email type will revert to Default and you will be able to edit to your preference.
Deleting an old custom email will permanently move that email type to the new editor.
(New) Custom emails: will be right in the new editor. There you can edit it again, or revert back to the default Mews style.

Oh, and one last thing: confirmation emails will now show reservation cancellation policies.

I'm also working on the new templates at the moment. First of all, thank you for dealing with this issue. The new tool really is worlds better than the previous one.
However, I still can't find a way to display the additional products with prices. I can only display products and quantity, is that correct, or what is the best way to proceed?
I am currently only working in the Design Hotel with the "Offer" template in the "Übernachtung service

Hi Andreas! I took a look at your setup and you're going quite advanced and got into the domain of "loops" - it's something we are still creating the help articles for and the training guides (videos). But what happens is that you should try to replicate the setup from the default Confirmation email:
It must be a single row, and that row will repeat itself as many times as there are items. e.g. if the reservation only has 1 room → 1 row will be displayed with the name of the item (room), the rate, and the total (rate x quantity) if the reservation has 1 room, a bottle of a wine and an airport pickup, the row will repeat itself 3 times, one for each item.
On the screenshot below you can see "Dynamic content" where this loop was created. I made a quick video to show you where to find it. You will need to combine the merge tags to be repeated into a single row for this logic to work

for now this is great! only issue we have is that some translations into german are not shown.
do we need to translate them manually?
Hi @Johannes Rott ! I have checked the settings and indeed this was a bug with translations on some specific email types. We fixed it already and now all the "default" emails should be fully translated.
Since your email was customized before our fix (you were very quick!) it did not override it. The fix would be to reset back to the default and then change the colors again (I think that was the only customization made?).
I made a video to hopefully make it easier - sorry about the inconvenience.
Hi @ettore.zotarelli thanky for the hint! the video is not valid anymore but i am quite sure that i know what to do! the auto translation is available to the 6 “mewsed” languages correct? Or do we need to do it manually as before?
is there any chance we could auto assign a room picture from the categories in MEWS? would make it a bit nicer for our costumers.
HI @ettore.zotarelli still some bugs in there, no german translation at some points.
Yes, the translation should be in the 6 "Mews" languages (maybe more coming up soon!) automatically as long as you do not edit the text from the default email. If you edit it, you will need to update that text block in every translated version manually.
The case you highlighted with cancellation feed and adults/children seems not to be translated yet into German - but should be done early next week. Thanks for pointing it out!
About the auto assign a room picture - do you mean changing the header based on the room of the reservation? It's a nice idea, but what would happen if we got multiple room types in the reservation? Pick the first one? Or the most expensive maybe?

regarding the picture it would be great if below the room type there would be automatically the combined the correct picture. I would have some more things in mind. Shall we share here or on direct message. (Former Straiv user, there was a gap in functionality on html but now you are almost there)

Ich habe die Bilder einfach reingezogen - hat funktioniert.
Aktuell kannst du noch keine Templates kopieren. Steht irgendwo in einem der früheren Kommentare.
Aber ja das wäre eine sehr gute Funktion. Andere Systeme arbeiten hier mit Bausteinen, die in einem “Creator” gebaut werden können und dann in einzelnen Templates eingebaut werden können. Teilweise geht das dann auch mit Zeitstempel, sodass du Aktualisierungen in der Zukunft bereits planen kannst. Oder saisonale Bausteine anlegen kannst.
So spart man sich auch wieder Arbeit und Zeit beim Aktualisieren.

I just dragged in the pictures - it worked.
You can't copy templates yet. It's somewhere in one of the earlier comments.
But yes, that would be a very good feature. Other systems work with building blocks that can be built in a "creator" and then integrated into individual templates. In some cases, this can also be done with a time stamp, so that you can already plan updates in the future. Or create seasonal building blocks.
This also saves you work and time when updating.

About the image uploads, it should be from a link from somewhere that is stored under your control, like your own website. I am not sure why the drag and drop worked, but it will not be (for legal reasons, as that storage from the Editor is not covered by our current terms of service in Mews). Please avoid doing it by drag and drop as it may stop working soon

Thank you very much for the feedback. I will give it a try. Now I have spent the last 2 days redesigning our templates, most of the time waiting for the template to be put online (1 hour for each small change). Will this continue in the near future? Or will it be faster soon? The templates in the tool are good, but with real test bookings you see it differently and have to correct it.
