Mews has been working to improve how Kiosk payments work and to extend the capabilities to include pre-authorisations.
If you’re using the Mews Kiosk and have it paired with a Mews payment terminal, then you could join existing participants of this beta program and get early access to this new capability!
What’s changed? The Mews Kiosk now recognises the settlement rules configured by each rate group. This means you can benefit from a more robust payment experience with a reduced risk of double charges and missed payments.
If desired, you can configure your settlement rules to take a pre-authorisation during check-in. Kiosk will now request this from the guest during the check-in flow and process through the Mews terminal without staff intervention, saving time for your front of house team.
