HelloĀ šŸ‘‹šŸ¾
Our team areĀ currently designing a function in Kiosk where staff users can skip guest profiles. We had this function initially and bringing it back in a newly designed way. Weā€™d like to invite you to test the design in progressĀ and collect your feedback.

If you have experience working in front of house assisting guests checking in, we'd appreciate if you could spare 8 minutes to participate in the test. Please feel free to share the test link with anyone you believe would be relevant for testing.

Please let me know if you encounter any issues during testing or if you have any questions.

Thank you

Hello!

Easy as it is, it should be possible to disable this in the final product for a property, since we are legally required to collect Name and Birthday for all travel companions, not matter if a baby or notā€¦

Another maybe related thing that we currently have issues with is, that we get certain reservations from our channel manager (D-EDGE) originating from hotelbeds that have two profiles attached to it, one as the owner, but not as a traveling guests, and another (same name) as the traveling guest.

Usually we need to collect the detailed personal data as required by law from the main guest (of a group/room), and only name and birthdate from the other companions. However, it seems that the hard coded setup for Austria is that only the reservation owner is required to provid all legally required data. Hence, as for these reservations there is no owner as a traveling companion, the kiosk does only ask for name and birthdate. This causes a lot of missing information each month that we are required to collect.

Example:

Ā

I donā€™t know how to handle that, besides that we manually make the companion in the reservation the reservation owner. For a real group, that makes sense, but in this case not.

Best would be if D-EDGE/hotelbeds would not send separate data for owner and travellers in the same reservation?

Or Maybe a check wheter itā€™s a multi room-group or not. If not than require to fill in details for the reservations owner at CheckIn, no matter if itā€™s a travellig companion or not?

Anyone else have a similar issue?

Regards,

Jean-Philipp.

Hi,

Ā

the process to skip the second person is very simple and easy.

Ā

We use Mews Kiosk in all properties and guests having issues with completing their registration card as data from all companions are requested.

This is since a few weeks and Mews mentioned that there was a change in the legal reuqirements. Which is not right as far as i know or maybe i missed the change of law. We only need to collect the data from the main guest / owner and no details from the companion. It is enough to have the amount of companions if it is a reservation under 10 persons.Ā No matter if it is a baby or adult. This is available and mentioned in the Bundesmeldesetz. It is very strange that a 3 month child or 2 year child need to sign and complete guest data.Ā

This process is time wasting and should be optionalĀ for hotels to enable or disable this function like you can also do for the main booker in the property settings.Ā

However since the goverment has decided to get rid of the ā€œMeldescheinā€ for german residents i hope that Mews will coordinate this in time to make sure we can start with this on 1th of January 2025.

Ā

Best

Linus

If we skip a profile in order not to complete the personal data, will that customer be able to complete it later in the Kiosk? In Spain it is mandatory to register all guests. We think it is good that at a certain point this step can be skipped, but finally it will have to be done. How are you going to manage this aspect?

Hello

Itā€™s a great question. At the moment, not yet. This first version will restore the previous capability. We're assessing the changes needed to allow a guest arriving later to still use the Kiosk, but this will come as a subsequent change.
