Hey everyone, the feature was released last week on Thursday, January 16. If you have any feedback about the functionality, please don’t hesitate to send me a DM and I’ll be happy to listen!

Also thank you everyone who participated in the beta testing and gave us your thoughts! We implemented the key feedback - to choose a specific rate instead of using the default one while creating a reservation - and we believe it’s more powerful now.

 

Hey Mews community 🙌

 

I’m excited to announce that we’ve completed the split reservation functionality. Now, when a guest extends their stay, you can create a new reservation with just 2 clicks, while keeping all the original reservation details intact in Mews Operations.

 

 

As part of this update, we’re also displaying calculated cancellation fees based on your set cancellation policies when shortening a reservation or adjusting the assigned category.

  • Enhanced operational control for properties managing corporate contracts and strict payment agreements
  • Greater transparency on cancellation fees when dates or assigned categories change

How can you get started?

  • To get early access in your Live environment, please comment below with your property name or Enterprise ID and we will start activating the beta on your property.

That sounds amazing. This whole topic is a pretty big one for us …

Is it also planned with these updates that double-triggered communication for thse split reservations can be deactivated? For example, so that check-in and check-out mailings are not triggered during the stay with each subsequent reservation?

Hi Daniel, that does sound like a big improvement.

We would like to join the early access phase with all of our properties. Do you need each property name, or is “ipartment” as the chain name sufficient?

Is it possible to choose the status for the newly created reservation? For example to have it as an optional booking at first, for the guest to actively confirm the new reservation through a quotation mail.

@daniel.do  great improvements that were done :-) congrats. Im also interested to the early access, however the both quoted questions by jones.eth and T.Pohl are very interesting and would need clarification :-)

Looks like a great feature.

 

Right now, whenever you change the date of stay, the default is apply cancellation fee. Could this be changes that the default the other way arround, meaning that we have to choose if we want to charge the cancellation fee.

Hey Jones, thanks for the feedback! We are currently not sending an email for the newly created reservation so it’s “deactivated” by default. Do you see a situation where you want to send these emails?

Hey there!

There is a checkbox which allows you to apply the cancellation fees or not. The only change we made is to calculate it for you based on the cancellation policies set with the rate.

Thanks for the feedback! We are confirming the reservation when you split the reservation. Do you see use cases where you want to make it optional first? 

I have the chain IDs so I don’t need each property name. Once you confirm it’s fine even without the optionalstatus, I’ll enable it on production for you.

Just a quick feedback from or property:

 

  • The screen must always be reloaded so that the “new” reservation is displayed.
  • You have to carefully look at the new reservation again, because the BAR rate is always chosen
  • We like this feature 😀
