Hello Mews Community, 👋

The well-being and security of our guests are non-negotiable. Now more than ever, we need to expand this promise into the digital world, given the rising occurrences of data breaches. The recent situations at MGM and Motel One underscore the need to tighten our digital defenses. Surprisingly, the majority of these breaches don't stem from sophisticated hacking but from deceptive social engineering that tricks people into giving up valid login details. 😨

Our data analysis shows a concerning trend: over 90% of Mews users haven't enabled either Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Pin Unlock. This oversight leaves a wide-open door for nefarious individuals. Activating 2FA creates an additional barrier, making it dramatically more difficult for intruders to gain access, even if they know your password. 🔒

Here's how to bolster your Mews account's defenses in a matter of minutes:

1. Go to your profile settings.
2. Find the security tab.
3. Initiate Two-Factor Authentication via Google or Microsoft Authenticators.

Property administrators have the option to mandate 2FA for all users, fortifying security across the board. Our guide offers a step-by-step walkthrough for setting up this feature for your team.

As another safeguard, consider using password managers. They not only generate and store complex passwords but can also handle 2FA codes. If you haven't yet embraced a password manager, we strongly suggest you check out Diceware for creating robust, randomized passwords.

Proactivity is key to navigating the digital hazards that lie ahead. Taking action now is a crucial step toward ensuring a safe, stress-free environment for our guests both now and in the future. 🌐🛡️
