Hi all,

We have setup our automated payment policies to charge guest cards, if a card declines we must mark the card invalid on the OTA and then 24hours later we can try the charge again and cancel the reservation.

We would love to be able to manually schedule a 2nd payment attempt instead of manually trying the card again.

If the card is then charged no further action is needed and we have eliminated the need to make additional manual checks.

Anyone found a way to do this?

Hello,

From what I understand, Mews performs a second payment attempt within 24 hours of the initial failure. If that attempt also fails, no further retries are made, and manual actions are required.

Given that the OTA may take more than 24h to update the card, it would make sense for Mews to extend their retry window to 48 hours. This would allow more time for potential resolution before manual action becomes necessary.

Hi Robin,

Thanks for the input, I thought Mews only tries to recharge the VCC’s? we have not seen the system try a guest card twice..

What i understand the are doing @Sam.C especially with Expedia cards as they are mostly valid from day of check-in… you might need to contact the support team.
