Does anyone know if it’s possible to use the same voucher code for two different vouchers with restrictions? In my case, I am trying to set up a voucher that provides 5% off all the time. However, on weekends that there is a concert in town, a second voucher will provide 10% off instead, on very specific dates that I was able to set up with restrictions.

However, I want these vouchers to be easy to use. I was thinking that if I used the same voucher code for both, when guests type that code in on our booking engine, it would bring up the appropriate rate based on the dates selected and the restrictions I have set up.

Has anyone done this before, or have an easier way to do it if this route isn’t feasible?

Thank you!

Hi Rebecca,

This is Iván from Mews Support.

I understand you are considering using the same code for more than one voucher. Let me confirm that your flow is correct, it is possible to add the same voucher code to more than one voucher.

In fact, while testing this, I realised both rates would be displayed if the restrictions allow. Therefore, I'd suggest to pay extra care to the restrictions before launching the codes.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to come back.

Best,

Iván

Ivan,

Thank you! This was very helpful and it appears to have worked for our Life House booking engine. The restrictions were a bit confusing at first, but they are all set up and pulling up the correct rates.

The only additional issue I’m having is the link to the Mews booking engine from the voucher page doesn’t appear to pull up the correct rates...It only pulls up our “Best Available Rate” as shown below. Again, this is when I click on the link to the Booking Engine from that specific Voucher page.

This is as opposed to our Life House Booking Engine show below, which pulls up the correct rates when the voucher code is entered:

It’s not a huge deal as it is functional through our primary booking engine, but I was hoping to be able to share the voucher links on social media as well.

Thank you!

Hey Rebecca,

thanks for your appreciation, I'm glad you could make the restrictions work.

This issue you are facing now is slightly unrelated. Our vouchers system links to the default booking engine in the property. Now, if the rates in that booking engine don't include those of the voucher, they'll not be shown even when using the code, and the system will default to another rate from the same rate group.

In this case, I understand the rates in the voucher are private, therefore you could add them to the booking engine without hesitation, since they'll only show with the voucher code.

Life House uses a different approach to retrieve this information, the reason why you are able to see them through their system.

Let me know if everything is clear 😊

Best,

Iván
