Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to reduce the number of automatic mails sent from mews. For example, guests sometimes receive the online check-in mail etc twice and it is sometimes a bit much in our opinion.

Hi @Simone-GH

The before start email is sent 48 hours prior to arrival, if the guest does not complete the online check-in then the reminder is sent on day of arrival.

According to this article, you can disable the before start reminder. The before start email is enabled in the stay settings, you may need to contact Mews support to request the reminder be disabled.

I’d like to hear if you are able to have the reminder disabled as i agree, it can be a bit much.

Before start

Mews automatically sends this email 48 hours before check-in. It leads the guest to the Guest portal, where they can add any legally required information, for example, address, passport number.

By default, this email includes a QR code attachment to help speed up check-ins, for properties with Mews Kiosk, that you can choose to disable.

Note: Mews doesn't send this email if the reservation is made after normal check-in time or the customer has already provided all legally required info.

🙋‍♂️ Who is it sent to? The reservation owner and any companions whose email addresses are in Mews.

🚫 Can you disable it? Yes.

✍️ Can you customize it? Yes.

📩 Can you manually resend it? Yes.

Pleased to hear! Thanks for letting us know.

I would still find the solution better if each accommodation could decide for itself which mail to send and when. The number of mails that cannot be deactivated is far too high.

We keep getting online reviews criticising the issue of the amount of mail.

Sadly the article isn’t entirely correct…

The Before Start Reminder cannot be disabled. The YES here equals to deactivating the Before Start emails completely...
