I already asked a question about the returning classification in Mews and it gets added automatically with the second checkin of the guest (which makes total sense). Problem is that this information is not really useful because you see that effectively only with the third reservation (because when the guest checks in with the second reservation the classification is not added so it looks the first stay).

I get that the current handling is the most practical from an technical standpoint and logically makes sense but operations wise this is not really valuable. With beforehand preparations or even on checkin at the front desk the classification is not visible on the second stay (because it doesn’t get added until checkin).

Better would be instead a first-time classification that every profile has by default that gets removed on checkin (technically the system checks on every checkin if that classification is set and removes it).

I know that there are some guest loyalty indicators planned that are shown on the guest profile … i hope that these are not only visible in the profile but also (maybe as setting which indicator) on the arrival reports for example. A indicator visible that shows the number of stays or maybe even number of nights would render the returning classification essentially useless (which is a good thing).

For full compatibility/flexbility i would add a first-time classification as mentioned and also the indicator in some way.
