Good morning all,

We’ve gotten this situation a few times, so I thought I’d ask.

We operate a receptionist-less hotel, where we utilize the kiosk and a digital receptionist.

Sometimes guests find it easier to just book again through the booking engine, but it’ll place guests in a different room. It would be much easier for our operations if they were placed in the same room by default.

Is there an option that I am missing, or anything in the development road map coming up?

It’s a small thing for most people here but would help us out!

Looking forward for the reply.
the only option I could see that was viable was room preference and use the features under internals for the guest, however as long as they are not the same this will not work.
looking forward to see if someone else has a workaround.

Hi @Bernie & @Uffe

I've experienced similar situations with our operations. Within the current feature set of MEWS, there isn't a direct solution to ensure returning guests get the same room and i can’t speak for the roadmap.

That said, I am exploring how we could leverage the MEWS API to search for existing reservations and extend them from within a mobile app/member portal, which would be a neat solution to this challenge.

Has anyone considered or have insights on other booking engine providers that might have this feature?

@Bernie  This is a valid challenge that you raise and one that Mews would like to address. Having said that, this functionality isn’t on the roadmap as yet but I’d invite you share this request here so we can follow up with you when there is movement. Thanks
