Hi,

I’m new and in training and setting up my rates. By default it seems anybody can make a booking in the far future. I can put closed restrictions in a certain time window but if I go farther than that in the future then I can book something say in year 3050 no problem. It is kind of weird to me to have such dates open in my system. Are these far-future availabilities pushed to the OTAs and channel managers? Is the only way to protect oneself from such bookings to put a ridiculously high price on the tarif? seems like a hack to me and a malicious user could still make a phony booking... Is there anyway tarifs can be closed for all dates above a certain date ?

Thanks

Hi @yxudous

Typically each channel has a limit on the number of days out you can send the inventory.

However, I think what you’re looking for bookings made directly in MEWS would be using the Close Out with Maximum Advance days. You can put 365 so the restriction would allow bookings inside 365 days.

Hi @yxudous,

It’s actually very easy to solve this.

You can create a Closed to stay restraction with just entering the ‘Active from start of’, which would be your first cut-off day and leave the ‘Active until end’ of empty. Then select all days, rates and spaces and no reservations will be made as of the set day. This will allow you to change the date whenever your rates for the new season are loaded and ready for sale :-)

thanks, I was sure I had tried that and it had only closed the start date but I must have made a mistake….
