Dear community,

we still have a lot of elder guests that book with us directly.

Also most guests stay with us for several days. As far as I can see the mews confirmation email only displays a total price for all services of all days together (like logis, breakfast, dog fee and whatnot).

It’s very hard to do a follow up if a guest insists that a specific part of the offer was discussed differently on the phone ( e.a. dog fee 15€ instead of 30€, rate on a specific day of the stay should be different).

I am sure we are not the only ones facing this problem.

How did you solve this? Is there a great workaround?

We would very much appreciate help 🙂.

Best wishes

Hi @Katharina, thank you for raising this here 🙂

To include a detailed breakdown of charges in the Mews confirmation email sent to guests, you can customize the email template to add specific placeholders for each charge type you want to display.

We have a help article that can assist you with customizing your emails using mail templates in Mews Operations. You can learn how to use placeholders and HTML to personalize and format the email, which can help you include a detailed breakdown of charges in the confirmation email.

Here is the link to the article: Customize your emails using mail templates in Mews Operations

However,  there will soon also be an email editor. We are going through the final tests and migrating the default emails at the moment! Stay tuned! 😊

Dear Jessica Becker,

thanks for taking the time to answer our question.

I know it’s possible to change the mail templates.

The only place holders for mail templates in the help article you refer to are:

{reservationDetailsHtml}

{summaryHtml}

Which are part of the problem because these mail templates are the only ones for rate display and cannot be customized. Maybe I missed something? Can you give some insight?

I am looking forward to the email editor.

Best wishes

hi @jessica.becker can i beta that email editor?

Hi @Katharina – thanks for clarifying. I reached out to my colleagues and they will answer you here.

@mauritsbots thanks for voicing your interest! We are currently testing it internally. Stay tuned in our beta program group, which is where we will be posting when this is open for customers 🚀

Hello @Katharina ! Thank you for your question. Thank you @jessica.becker for your input!

I understand you find the HTML placeholders create limitations as you are unable to customize the reservation details included in each placeholder. At this time, placeholders are the only way to insert dynamic data into an email. I will be sure to pass along your feedback internally. There is also an active Product Feature Request form that you are welcome to contribute to here.

Please let me know if you have further questions!

Thanks but the product feature request is from 2023...that’s 2 years

Hi @Katharina !

I understand your concern. We can create a new one but I recommend contributing to one that has the most upvotes. I will also pass along to our developers that this has been an active request since 2023. Thank you!

@Katharina @adeline.baesler taking the comments on the feedback item into regard… the oldest comment is from Feb 2020.. so its clearly a merged feedback item..  so it's just a tiny bit older than 2023 ;)

Hello @mauritsbots

Thank you for bringing that to our attention. I will pass along that this request dates back to 2020 instead of 2023.

Hello @mauritsbots and @Katharina

I received confirmation from our developers that they are developing a more options to customize existing email templates. I do not have much more detail or a timeline, but it is currently being tested.

Kind regards,

Addie
