Currently MEWS charges cancellation fees on the day of cancellation when automatically applied - is there any way to have this set so it charges on the intended day of arrival instead to keep revenue in the relevant day?

Hi @MattJones

You can modify the deadline setting in your cancellation policy. Here are the steps to modify your cancellation policy:

  1. In Mews Multi-Property, go to the main menu and select Policies > Cancellation.
  2. Click on the policy you want to edit.
  3. In the side-window, click the Details tab.
  4. Modify the Deadline field to specify when you want Mews to apply the cancellation fee, such as on the day of arrival.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.

This will ensure that the cancellation fee is charged on the intended day of arrival, aligning the revenue with the relevant day.

Let me know if this helped! 🙂

Hi @MattJones,

What Jessica is saying would only extend the deadline until which a cancellation can be made free of charge.

I guess you were referring to the consumption date of the cancellation fee revenue, am I right?

If so, there is currently no setting (that I know of) for this, the cancellation fee (if applicable) will always be consumed on the day of the cancellation, as that’s when the guest “owes” this,

I would recommend to sync your payment policies to your cancellation policies. That way you’d already have the money from the moment on, when a free cancellation is no longer possible.

Hope this helps!
