Just a small reach out to the Mews team. 

For external payments, the “Expiration date” is a non-mandatory field.
The star seems to indicate that it is. Please remove the star.

As far as I can tell, they removed the * at Mews  so this is no mandatory field anymore 😆

Yes, as @barb00sa said expiration date for external card payment is not mandatory anymore. Now looks like this:
