Developer user access

Our developer has requested access to our Mews account in order to figure out how to set up the code to embed and activate the Booking Engine. I am looked at individual user permissions and what access rights to give him, but can’t really figure out which would be relevant and necessary for him? We don’t wasn’t to provide more access than necessary. Thank you for all help!

How to use the Connector API

Hello, I want to build an availibilty calendar on my hotel website. For that I wanted to use the services/getAvailibilty API Route. Mews Support said to me that I need register a private integration in order to use it. But for that I would have to become a Mews Partner. Do have to that really just to use the API? Thanks.

Zapier Automations

Dear Mews Community, I'm looking for a person who has more in-depth knowledge of Zapier. I would like to do some automation with the integration, but I haven't quite gotten through it yet. As an example, in addition to many other automation ideas, I would like to know if the following automation is feasible: I would like to generate a Google Sheet daily with all reservations in the house. I know there is the "Guests in the House" report within Mews, but I would prefer to map this via Zapier to bring the data directly into an appropriate format. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a pre-built trigger within Zapier for this. There is only the trigger for new reservations, but not for existing ones. Does anyone know whether this is may possible with Webhooks by Zapier for example? I would be very happy to have an exchange partner on this topic. Best regards Niclas

Accounting integration

In particular, we need to transfer invoices generated in MEWS (and their corresponding collections) automatically to the accounting 3er party system (Quickbooks or Holded for example). If you use the STAAH channel manager with Mews, do you find that guests from Expedia bookings always have their nationality set as USA and their address set as the Expedia headquarters address?

Bridging the Gap between Hospitality and Tech - Is there a Knowledge barrier?

Looking back at my time at Mews, we’ve grown our tech teams with a great mix of people with and without hospitality experience. What I’ve noticed (coming from a hospitality background) is that I’ve taken a lot of what I know about the industry for granted. What I may have thought as general knowledge is actually not. There are so many aspects of hospitality that have come as second nature to us that we don’t really think twice about. On the other hand, when building custom integrations, I would think that developers don’t necessarily have the full picture of what the final outcome should be. So that leads to my question: Are there any challenges that come up when working with developers that don’t have hospitality experience? How do you bridge those gaps? Or do you not experience these challenges at all? I’m really interested to hear your experiences!

How to best prepare for certification - Best Practises

Study the certification process in order to prepare for what's to come. Allocate for sufficient time for API reviews, feedback and potential bug fixes to the integration until it passes certification successfully. Document the milestones listed above and share the document with the Mews Technical Partnership team. This will facilitate the API reviews and eventual creation of your integration.
