Our developer has requested access to our Mews account in order to figure out how to set up the code to embed and activate the Booking Engine. I am looked at individual user permissions and what access rights to give him, but can’t really figure out which would be relevant and necessary for him? We don’t wasn’t to provide more access than necessary.

Your developer does not need access, you can privide both snippets of code to the developer and then following these guides they should be able to implement.
If you prefer to grant the developer access to view settings in Mews, you can create a user account with permissions specifically limited to ‘Create and manage services.’ For permission to change settings, you can add the ‘Create and manage guest journey’ permission as well.
