Dear Community,
Is anyone here using Zapier with Mews? I’d love to hear about your experience with the integration and how you’re using it to automate workflows.
I’m particularly interested in:
- What kind of Zaps and workflows have you created?
- What other tools or platforms are you connecting to Mews via Zapier?
- How easy was it to set up, configure, and maintain the integration over time?
- Have you found any limitations with the Mews–Zapier integration, particularly around triggers, actions, data availability, or more complex workflows?
- How reliable has it been in day-to-day operations?
- Have you discovered any particularly useful or creative use cases or automation hacks?
I’d be especially interested in hearing from anyone who has moved beyond basic automations and is using Zapier to build more sophisticated workflows around Mews Operations. I’m mainly looking to gather some inspiration and learn about the different ways others are leveraging automation within Mews.
Overall, how would you rate the experience, and would you recommend Zapier as a tool for extending and automating Mews?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and insights!
Hi @Robin_Gustavsson,
We’ve been using Zapier for quite a while now and are always interested in new ideas. I’d say that right now we’re mostly just using the basics and aren’t creating anything too complicated. But that’s also because we’re still doing this more as a “side project” and haven’t made it a main focus yet. We aren’t working with the new Mews automations yet, so I can’t say what might be replaced by those automations in Mews in the future.
It’s incredibly useful for operations, saves a lot of time, and prevents errors. Currently, approximately 90,000 Zaps are running within 4 weeks.
Here are a few examples of Zaps that have already been created
- create an inventory reservation for extra bed, baby bed or dog set + create a product which is the trigger to create a task in Flexkeeping.
- create a task if special products are booked, like “halfboard” → to make a reservation in restaurant, like “garage” → to make a reservation in the parking area
- change arrival or departure time if a early check in or late check out is booked, or change departure time for a special rate only on sundays (since its specified in the contract)
- create a task if a special rate is booked, f.e.: For certain discounted rates, supporting documentation must be reviewed
- post the external payment if someone pays with paypal on our own website
- Add a classification to the profile if a special rate is booked, f.e.: Classification “staff” or “friends&family” if staff- or family-rate is booked
- credit redeemed points from our loyalty program
We do have a lot more ideas like:
- allocate a pet-friendly room if a dog set is booked
- cancel payment schedule if reservation is done by an employee (without booking engine) or if the costs are covered by a company per invoice
- merge groups f.e. if 5 rooms are booked with same confirmation number via an OTA
- Post the deposit when a future payment is made manually
- Read reservation notes and create either tasks or make a note in the profile or add a product to the reservation
If you have any other questions or need more details, feel free to reach out. We can also set up a call
Best regards,
Louisa
