Is your MinLOS restriction quietly blocking rooms you could sell?

Hey Community!

We’re exploring an auto-detection concept in Revenue Management and want to pressure-test it with real hoteliers.

Who this is for: Hotels that use MinLOS restrictions to protect high-demand nights or to pull guests into a slow adjacent night. If that sounds like part of your revenue management setup, you’ve probably also felt the flip side: sometimes the same restriction that protects your busy nights can quietly make some inventory on the stay date next to it unsellable. And today you’re manually scanning for that today in your dashboards/spreadhseets.

The concept: We’ve built a detection mechanism scans a hotel’s availability and MinLOS restrictions, and flags exactly which stay dates have room-nights that look open but are actually blocked by which restriction. And we would like to further turn it into an automated workflow that you can just let run in the background.

The test we’d like to run with you: 1 week, low-fidelity, no setup required:

  • Every morning, I’ll run the analysis and personally email you a snapshot that shows your property’s availability + MinLOS restrictions, with the blocked room-nights highlighted
  • You can use it however you want - make decisions about which stay dates to relax or add restrictions.
  • In return, I’d love to get your notes: does the snapshot flag the right dates for you to check, what scenarios are we missing, where did the detection go wrong? We know MinLOS is rarely the only restriction in use. Your feedback directly helps us improve the detection logic so we’re not spamming you with false positives if this becomes real.

Spots: Maximum 5 hotels for this round.
