Vielen Dank vorab!

Hi @JMG,

Here is what the mail template editor gives you to work with.

Where to edit the template
In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Settings > Property. Click Guest experience > Mail templates. Find the template you want to edit and click Edit. To see which merge tags you can use, click Merge tags.

A few notes before you start:

  • Only users with the Create and manage mail templates permission can edit mail templates.
  • To use the new email template editor, you need to delete your existing customized templates first.
  • Avoid HTML blocks for written content. HTML blocks cannot be translated.

One block per reservation
Loops repeat content automatically. The reservation loop shows its content once for each reservation in the booking. Put everything you want per reservation inside that loop, such as the guest name and the details for that stay. Two things to watch:

  • Reservation merge tags only work inside the reservation loop. Outside it, the fields come out empty.
  • The reservation loop must have both a start and an end. If it does not, you get an ‘Invalid template’ error.

Keeping large group emails short
One approach works well for bigger groups. Add the reservation section twice, each in its own loop. Then wrap each loop in a condition based on how many reservations are in the booking.

  • Above a threshold you choose, for example 4 reservations, show a compact version with only the key details per reservation.
  • Below it, show the fuller version.

This way one template works for small and large bookings. Display conditions can be split between a row’s before and after values. This lets you open the condition at the start of a row and close it at the end.

Testing it
The preview uses sample data, not your real reservation data. To see the real result, create a test reservation with a booker. You can add a booker manually during the reservation process. You can also book through the Booking Engine using ‘I’m booking for someone else’. The booker confirmation is then sent to the booker.

The full guide to loops, conditions and merge tags is here: Knowledge Base

On prices per reservation and a per-night rate breakdown, I cannot confirm from our documentation which merge tags are available for this. The Merge tags list in the editor shows what you can pull into the template. If you do not find what you need there, let us know and we will check with the team.

If other members have built a booker confirmation they are happy with, it would be great to see it shared here.
