Great news! Looking forward to some improvements.

  • Splitting group reservations
It’s possible to merge groups via group names. Please make it possible to select a certain amount of rooms/bookings on the right side and add a funktion like “split from current group and create new one”.

I would love to have the availability to split groups!

Another point that would be very important for us is rate handling. Ideally, there should be an option for block rates to remain linked to the active daily rate, rather than becoming a fixed copy of the rate and prices at the time the block was created. A true live connection to the daily rate would be much more practical operationally and would reduce maintenance effort.

If Mews moves further toward occupancy- and room-based pricing within blocks, it would also be extremely valuable to make this possible for connected systems such as Event Temple. In the groups and coach travel segment, we often sell specific single and double rooms. At the moment, however, Event Temple can only process single-occupancy prices from Mews and send them back to Mews as a room block. Better support here would make a real difference for connected group workflows.

Since Event Temple hase the ability to separate single and double rooms, but it can only book into availability blocks => those are just rooms regardless the occupancy.

If theres a differentiation between double and single inside the block, im sure then its technically possible to connect the occupancy as well! Looking forward to it!

Hey @aline.bossard, apologies for the late reply, I’m currently out of office and forgot to mention it before!

Interesting, I never heard of that. What system did you use to have that capability? It feels a bit confusing to me that you’d have confirmed reservations in optional availability block. I’m wondering if others have similar experience.

@daniel.do I’ve asked one of my Group manager colleague to do the survey, but the link seems to no longer work. Is that on purpose? If not, would you have a new link for us please?

I stopped the survey today, I think that it might’ve been because you used the same browser. I can DM you a link that you can use and share with your group manager :) Also if there’s more feedback, he can DM me here as well :))

Hey @Vivien Polauf & @Robin Gustavsson, can you please share more with me about that use case? I’m wondering what systems you used as well to understand where you’re coming from. You can DM me for more details :)

Hey everyone!

Thank you all for your feedback and your time! We closed the survey, and gathered a lot of information to dig more into the individual capabilities :)

We’ll now be planning when and how to tackle these individual opportunities and might reach out to your email if we have some questions. We’ll also share more on the progress here as we’ll go through beta testing so keep an eye on the community posts 👏

If you have more questions or feedback, please, keep it coming here! I’ll be out of office and be back on Monday, May 11 so please be patient with my responses 🙏

Hi Daniel, it’s always been in the PMS. We’ve asked Sales & Catering tools (Thynk, Delphi, Pxier, Event Temple) if they could offer an allotment feature and always got the same answer: this is a PMS functionality. :)

Thanks @Andreas Behl for the feedback!

The rate handling make sense but do you want to have it linked to the active daily rate at all times? I’m thinking if this won’t cause more issues than benefits.

We’re in discussion with Event Temple about these changes and are figuring out if there’s anything on their side update once we roll out these improvements :)

When I choose a rate that depends on the daily-changing Daily Rate, then yes, I want that block and its rate to change along with the Daily Rate.

But I do not want this to apply by default in all cases. Of course, we also have many fixed agreements based on fixed rates. There should simply be an option to create blocks that are linked to the Daily Rate as well.

Exactly this. There is a difference between static and dynamic rates.
Dynamic rates used in blocks should update with the daily rate. This is currently not the case, which is why we cannot use dynamic rates in availability blocks.
