BETA: Real time product posting for Mews Events

Hi Mewsers, we are excited to inform you that we will begin roll our beta testing improved product posting & billing workflows for Mews Events.

The beta release will be in 2 increments:


Increment 1: Flexible product posting


Demo video: 

  1. Flexible product posting: Users are able to post products from the EMS to the PMS more than once & Mews Events generates new bills
  2. Easier financial reconciliation: users are able to compare contracted to posted products reducing time reconciling event invoices
  3. EMS can create a bill to post to: Mews Events creates a new bill in the PMS containing the event name.
  4. EMS can show difference between billed and contracted item: Identifiers note products quantity and price changes that need to be manually made in the PMS


Increment 2: Event billing screen & corrections

 

  1. Centralised event billing in the PMS: A event billing screen In the PMS provides an overview of all event bills in one place, providing an area for deposits to be posted in the future.
  2. Bill corrections from Mews Events: Increasing or decreasing the count or price of event products
  3. 7-day limit removed: Post products without a 7 day restriction
  4. Link products added from the PMS to events quotes: Post products on the PMS bill and link them to existing quotes for a simpler in stay experience
  5. Improved navigation between event quotes & PMS billing: 1 click navigation between quotes and bills
  6. Final invoices in the PMS

Hi, we are just about to onboard next week but would like to benefit from this BETA immediately as billing was our biggest concern!

@jeffzarrinnam I don’t see an active account for Hollywoodhotel on Mews Events. Please may you confirm if the property name is the system may be different?`

Hi,

Thanks a lot for these improvements!

The new feature and the added flexibility are really great and very much appreciated.

Here are a few thoughts and feedback points from our side to help further improvements:

  • Billing for spaces and meeting rooms is still not available automatically and remains manual. We hope this will evolve soon.
  • Discounts are not applied automatically yet.
  • Negative transfers are not available.
  • When transferring packages, the services appear separately instead of being grouped under the booked package, which makes the final guest invoice less clear.

We’re continuing testing with the team, but will wait for a busier period to get a clearer overall view.

  • Billing for spaces and meeting rooms is still not available automatically and remains manual. We hope this will evolve soon.

Integrating meeting rooms with the PMS is planned for the second half of the year. This will bring the flexibility for managing meeting rooms, accommodation and products in real time from the event system.

  • Discounts are not applied automatically yet.

Please may you describe a little more on how you would like to handle discounts?

  • Negative transfers are not available.

I am happy to inform you that negative transfers & corrections will be added in phase 2 of this initaitve.

  • When transferring packages, the services appear separately instead of being grouped under the booked package, which makes the final guest invoice less clear.

When it comes to packages, please may you describe to me how you would like to see information for the Guest as well as operational information for your teams. If you prefer, I would be happy to have a call to discuss this topic.
