Good morning,

From our contact person at Mews, I understand our city tax is hard coded.
So changes are handled by Mews.

Our city tax is indeed € 3,75.- NET
with 6% VAT added this becomes € 3,98.-
with 12% VAT added this becomes € 4,20.-

This early morning (March 1st), I notice that our departures that stayed over last night has the city tax loaded for an amount of € 3,75.- (so without VAT added).

A new reservation also came in early this morning, and when I consult it, I see the city tax is again loaded for an amount of € 3,75.- (so without VAT added).

Can someone please look into this and provide feedback?

Also, kindly share Mews’ interpretation on the VAT-percentage for city tax during the transitional period (reservations made before 01.03.2026 with invoice date 30.06.2026 latest):
→ city tax continues to be subject to 6% VAT; or
→ city tax is immediately subject to 12% VAT

Thank you very much in advance!

update - FYI:

a case has been opened with Mews to further investigate this issue, correctly summarised as:
missing VAT on hard-coded city tax in billing after Belgium’s 2026 VAT change
