Can I make it harder for reception to change room status to inspected?

Hello!

I would like to make it a bit more difficult for our receptionists to mark rooms as “inspected.” Occasionally, housekeeping is still cleaning when guests want to check in. This means that rooms are sometimes marked as “clean” but haven’t been inspected yet. In such cases, our reception colleagues should consult the housekeeping manager or check the room themselves before marking it as inspected.

Currently, when checking in a guest, a box appears with the option “mark as inspected,”. We have noticed that some receptionists then mark these rooms through there as inspected, without actually checking the room. This creates confusion for both housekeeping and reception.

Please note: I don’t want to prevent them from inspecting rooms and marking them as such in the system. I just want it to be less easy and not doable with a single click.

Hello!
I understand your point, but it seems that the matter is related to internal routines. So continue reminding your staff that before changing a room’s status to “inspected,” they must check with the Housekeeping Manager.
If the Housekeeping Manager is not using the Mews Operations mobile app, do consider it, as it can be very helpful - the manager can update the room status instantly while in the room, without needing to go to a computer, which saves time.
